The Reality of Buying Steam Accounts
Purchasing a Steam account might seem appealing, offering rare badges or a large game library at a lower price (or not). However, the risks far outweigh the rewards.

Many accounts sold online come with disposable, randomly generated emails. This raises a major issue: to modify a Steam account’s email, access to the original email is required. This means:

The seller could still have access to the original email and reclaim the account.
The account could have been stolen, allowing the rightful owner to recover it through Steam support.
Even accounts sold with the original email aren’t completely secure. Sellers or previous owners can use past payment history, linked phone numbers, or other recovery methods to regain access. Moreover, purchasing accounts violates Steam’s Terms of Service, risking bans and the loss of everything on the account.

While some suggest buying from "real individuals" for better transparency, there are no guarantees. Whether the seller is honest or not, the account could still be flagged, reclaimed, or banned.

Do not buy Steam accounts.

Don't waste your money violating the SSA by buying an account anyone can make for free that the original owner can reclaim at any time?

Amazing...

Was this AI generated? It has a huge percentage being marked as it. BTW, there's no badge for posting on the forums anymore, if this first post was attempting to do that.

Anyway, no legitimate user buys an acc, they make their own, buy their own games etc.

Any site "selling" Steam accounts is a scam, as who ever made the account can, at ANY time, recover the account. Meaning you lose the account and the money you wasted buying it.

Also, Steam Support can permanently suspend an account if they have reason to believe it is not being used by the owner aka the user who made the account.

i think cheaters do not care about the risks i think they are willing to pay good money in order to ruin somebodies match.

they cannot see you they cannot hear you they cannot touch or smell or feel you but they still are paying TOP DOLLAR for the feeling of superiority.

this can only be explained by a felt lack of power in real life really.

i sympathise with you it's just that you do not fully understand what kind of person is buying steam accounts...

Ive learned my lesson from buying steam accounts, I bought this rare account from sep 11 2003. Thats one day before steam launch date so it must have been made a steam employee or someone with special access. It costed 999$ USD and came with "saftey instructions". one of the instructions said wait 3 months before changing any info on the account. I waited the 3 months and then changed the email, the next morning I woke up to a permanent community ban. They told me to provide the original cd key that was used to register the account, which was provided in the purchase, but it got revoked. I was pretty upset because the registration date and at the time I was pretty into rare accounts. But I guess thats what I deserve for buying an account, especially one so old that comes high surveillance from steam support on the account activity.

Again?

Anyone who buys a Steam account deserves whatever they get. Its never a good idea, from anyone.

Fascinating. It actually is tho. Like instead of "JusT dOn'T uSe It1!11" and other funny arguments I can just make some money of it rather it will be a total waste.

Have you ever read one of those threads where people can't recover their lost or stolen account because Steam Support is stubbornly asking for a very specific piece of proof of purchase they cannot provide because reasons?

Just wonder why they do that when usually any PoP serves for that.

Problem is apart from all that A LOT of those accounts come with an attached ban (VAC or game ban) which can't be reversed no matter what... That often is the reason why they're for sale in the first place

If I had to say anything I'd probably say that I thought for sure it was already illegal from the get go to sell (and thus use) sold accounts. You can transfer rights (like if someone die) but I'm pretty sure the licence agreements don't allow you to resell it to someone else to begin with.

It appears to be an AI-generated summary of an AI-generated reddit thread. It's computer slop all the way down.

No, it was made by someone in the beta test.

I'm pretty sure you can't even do that at least not officially
