Winter Sale disappointing......?

Let me explain:

1.Usability and layout of the front page is not very well designed in my opinion, compared to what we had before in sale periods.(im not saying it was perfect, but atleast everything was in place)

2.Back then we had daily dails everyday, now every 2 days.

3.The prices, i know i may sound like a ungratefull ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, but mostly 20% 33% 40% 50% arent cutting it for summer and winter sales.(we are so ♥♥♥♥ing spoiled llololol) what happened this year???! but seriously halloween and fall sales where better!!

Community choices are still here and so are the flash sales.
However flash sales every 12 hours instead of 8 hours, but now 6 games instead of 4 so that makes up for it , actually nothing really much changes for flash sales (maybe the prices, but too early too judge). Its just that people have a better chance not missing out on them.

4.Unfortunately community choice sales only happen per 24 hour cycle instead of 8.

i dont know if this is the right term for it , but it feels dumbed down for some reason.
also no festive atmospheric design in the background ): only the header.

Then you probably got ripped off ten times. Did you check Greenman, Gamersgate, GOG or Orgin as well as other retailers? They had better prices. I guess the sale was a success if you like paying more money for games than you have to.

Maybe it's easier to find sth if you had 9 games instead of 411 ;)

At one point the majority of those games were purchased from Steam. Now the majority of games I purchase I purchase from other retailers. Gone are the days where Steam is the best deal.

i dont thinks so.. it said 48 hours when it came and theres no flash deal. they did brought back the deals from flash sale but all of them were fcked up.
Some games wasnt given a savings due to this problem. like i said "dissapointed".

Lets wait till summers should we? its the best sale that has its own meme.

666grusel, tried to get a message to you, go visit matrixgames.com (publisher) or slitherine studios (the developer), but try matrix first, you will find Panzer Corps on their holiday sale that last till at least the 5th of Jan or 15th, can't remember. They have a good price on almost all the panzer corp dlc and game. Also they still know how to provide customer service. I accidently bought duplicates of 2 of the DLC. I contacted them, got a personal reply, asked just fill out a Letter of Destruction, and they gave me my money back. Unlike some.

Sorry I write so much, but I am trying to respond back to the 100+ responds since I last posted. Since I have had no reason to stick around on Steam this holiday sale, so I check in maybe once every 12 hours.

The front page is like the final blow to the gut, as we let out our Steam from the hit, and then one kick to our gems, for the 2 day part.

If anyone is more bored than me, you should try to get some sort of count on unique user names complaining about previous sales, and how many post among the possible multiple threads.. Then compare each one to the next, to show changes over each sale. If there is a constant increase, then those who say we are just being sour as always will see that the numbers have grown. Once again is the fact that there will be no way to count those who didn't post, so it isn't scientific, but closest thing we can get.

As I said, at least 2 of the flash sales were to help pour more Early Access and Low Cost titles, so Steam has something to discount at 90% for the next big sale.

They may not have 5k new games a year (but they sure are trying hard to create that). The number of games on sale were over 6k (yes some old, some somewhat still fresh, and new). Perhaps when they were discounting, they couldn't find what to give a discount to, so they used a dart board that they plastered on the side of the building and gave every employee a blind fold, spun them around and then had them throw it.

Top seller? Based on total dollar amount? Where did they learn that? Top seller in games shouldn't be about dollar amount (if this is true) as naturally a newer title will have a big edge over older titles. Maybe they should be more specific, Top Seller - based on unit sales, Top Seller - Based on gross sales.

Fewer sales would help, but look at almost every other store retail and online. If they can find a holiday, date, event or something to call for a sale, they will, to get you to look and hopefully buy. This could have also been a reason the sale was low, they had already dilluted our wants with earlier sales, so by this sale there really wasn't anything shockingly great.

Relatively good deals, but those were sold for less during winter sales 2012 and 13.

Kind of odd that old games are getting more expensive over time, ain't it?

The sales were dissappointing... Its not like a year or two years ago, when there was a sale and I had to hold my wallet tight...
Its just - there wasnt anything interesting to buy.

Im dissapointed that encore is lasting 2 days.This sale I picked up alot still and it was way cheaper that buying for the consoles so I am happy with what I got, and the games on my library will last me way into the future.They should have had the 8 hour flash sales though, 12 hours was too long and with it being over Christmas people had time off work to check.In the summer sales I had to work and if I missed a 8 hour period that was just how it went.But with the 8 hours we had more stuff go on sale.It was more exiting with the 8 hours sales.

I got KotoR2, too.
But having that said, KotoR series used to go on sale for $2.50 in the past sales, not $3.40.
