Why cant we get any good vampire games?

I really love the theme and since i played Vampire The Masquarade: Bloodlines i initiate a long wait for more good games in this genre, but they never came. For a moment i thought we would have World of Darknes Online, and i was willing to spend a good money is this one, even if it would be a MMO(wich i dont particulary like), and suddenly they canceled the title.
Anyone know of some promissing vampire game? Why it apears to be so hard to make good games of the genre?

I personally love the Castlevania games, especially the seven "castletroid" games for PS1/GBA/DS which involve lots of exploration accompanied by a rich soundtrack that does a lot to set the scene and mood.

In general I love the Castlevania games for their soundtracks; they can do surprisingly great things with the atmosphere.

That said, admittedly, there's often only one or at most a few vampires in each game -- Dracula and some high-ranking entities such as Olrox, Elizabeth Bartley, Carmilla, Walter Bernhard, and Brauner. The castles themselves are populated generally by a vast number of other undead (and other strange) creatures. But when vampires appear they tend to be very important in the story.

I was just about to post that. It's more of a dungeon crawler than an RPG like VTM, but still a pretty good game (and if you like loot, the game utterly drowns you in it :P).
