Looking for a Good RPG

So i have about 8 years expirence playing World of Warcraft with over 450 days played on it...and i constantly bounce out of it and back into it. But when im not playing it im constantly on the quest to find an RPG that is just amazing.

This time i took a brake and played some League of legends... some heroes of the storm (yeah MOBA not RPG) but im always looking for an RPG to just dive into.

I guess i could tell you what im looking for and maybe you guys can point me in some directions.

Graphics are not majorly important to me (obviously i played Warcraft for 8 years lol) but i would like soething a bit nice (Cant wait for Black Desert Online to pick up and come out)

So somewhat decent graphics.
3rd person is almost a must
Prefer Open world
Prefer item drops from quests / bosses that are randomly better based on %
prefer those items to change appearence of character
prefer long storylines
multiplayer/mmo is a plus but not required if storyline is on point
Prefer fantasy as opposed to like a FPS RPG like say halos campaign
must not be turn based (HATE TURN BASED LOL)


Dragons Dogma really fits my list of requirements as does Fable. those games are amazing.
I played the crap out fo those.. and Dragon Age but only the first one (the second one felt linear)
Path of exile was amazing simply because of the vast talent system.
torchlight 2 was decent
Dungeon siege 3 was ok
Crawl was amazing till i realized how amazingly short it was and not really an RPG
Blade and Soul was amazing for the first few hours then it lost its fire.
The forrest is ok but still too buggy
Reign of Kings was TRASH
H1Z1 was dumb
HATE EVERY ELDER SCROLLS GAME (dont know why.. it just feels off to me. )
also didnt care for Dragon Soul


so... is there any really decent RPG games like fable ot Dragons Dogma that i might have missed out on?

You said you liked the first dragon age but not the 2nd so should give inquisition a look. As it's open world, loads of quests and a pretty epic story.

Any of the souls games would also be worth a look.

Neverwinter nights 1-2 as well as sacred 2 and Titan quest.

Well, you might try Reckoning, Kingdoms of Amalur . A Loved and Hated game - I happen to love it. The colours , the gameplay, the huge world, freedom of choices, decent story, - check it out here :

There are in my opinion only two downers, the first one obviously being the developers went bankrupt, ( but ! : It is an incredible finished game - don`t worry about bugs ! You`ll be able to finish it without any huge frustration issues ! ) The other down is the level cap. But that does not bother me either , strangely ; it is a lot of fun in any way .

Yeah i personally loved elder scrolls series. Torchlight 2 is alright. I was not a fan of fable series. I liked Dragons Dogma but there was still few minor things about the game i did not like. I personally love rpgs even indie rpg games. I personally had planned out working on a simple and free ARPG not sale it just to program a whole game. I personally planed isometric and 2.5d arpg with simple and complex chain of event storyline with addictive loot grinding. It would be isometric with 2.5d levels. But not much said other than i personally love and fav rpgs. I played alot of rpg my whole life. Zelda i know its random i even consider them making that game series more rpg than before with complete freedom.

I did not like Diablo 3 because of the fact i paid 70 dollars for it then played it once before they permantly banned me for something i did not do. I believed i was hacked by a modder who got me banned with illegal modding. According to the banned message. I did not like the auction house. But the console diablo 3 was one of my favriotes.

Thanks. I was looking for a hobby like this. I am only a begginer programer. My goals is not only to program a computer and development my own software, but also program an RPG game. I am going to check this out.

The thing that you must think with that kind of project is you are not only Creating a game or an (RPG) but an entirely Civilization with Rules, Systems Laws, Deities, Language, Festivities, Religions, et cetera..!

Yes I agree with that in fact of a desgin plan for that. The only thing i am not even planning on releasing its just purpose right now for an idea and desgin plan i have planned. Later on i will give a prototype to another more advanced programmer and modeler and someone who is experienced with sfx and sound and etc. Maybe recruit them to help with game as well. I do like village building games and isometric arpg exploring as well.

Why don't you try the game rated DEATH / DEATH IGN, Dark Soul : Prepare to Die Edition? The storyline is one that is hidden within the game, you just have to look for it. It meets up to almost all of your standards too.

Hundred percent get the Witcher 3 when it comes out. Loads of armors, great combat, many decisions that effect the game, long storyline and deep one too, and HUGE open world. Its EXACTLY what you're looking for.
