Hatred seems to be getting that AO rating not from its graphic violence....but from the context of the violence in these times. Is it right? I don't know. But I think that is really why it got an AO rating.
Will we see more AO games? I can't answer that for sure. From what I can tell...Hatred is the first AO game on Steam. Or at least the first that I have heard of. I don't really think we will see too many AO games on Steam simply becuase big publishers do not shoot for an AO rating. Also...most games that receive the AO rating typicall receive it due to pornographic content unless I am mistaken. I do not think Steam will be allowing those types of games to be sold on in the Store. But who knows?
And yeah, pretty much most devs are not as brave like Rockstar to put out content which is guaranteed to cause contreversy
