Do older steam games cd keys expired?

I want to buy black ops but $40 for a 5 year old game is a bit too much to pay for. I found the cd version of the game of amazon for twenty and I was wondering if an older steam key would be expired?

Those keys should last forever. In the rare event the keys don't work; you are fully entitled to a replacement key or refund from the retailer.

Just make sure it's not a key that someone else has already used. If it's already been used, it won't work anymore.

i don't think black ops counts as an older game, but still the cd key should work perfectly

Nope, CD keys don't expire until they're used by someone.
