Worth buying Elder Scrolls Online?
I would ask they on the games discussion forum, but its locked to only users being allowed to post on there. Any thoughts or opinions on the game that folks want to share? Just curious about its state right now, I don't care about what it was like at launch.

Do not buy elder scrolls online whatever you do. the online sucks, the servers crash and lag and the co-op in the game fails please trust me on this. save your money and get something you will enjoy.
I am enjoying it. I've got no idea what DarkGaming is talking about servers crashing. I've been subbed since launch and they've only been down when I could actually be on one weekend, and they extended everyone's sub when that happened. I notice a little bit of lag sometimes, but nothing major; it could be worse in more hectic battles, and probably is, since it is in almost every game.

The environments are beautiful, combat is immersive, most (if not all) NPC dialog is voiced as well as in text. The story is interesting enough and the game isn't afraid to make subtle jabs here and there about the genre. I still remember an npc commenting on how he figured he'd just wait around out where he was until someone came along to help him.

Addendum: I managed to try ArcheAge out for a few hours last weekend; I didn't realize how much I was appreciating ESO's voice work (even if it does feel they use a lot of the same voice actors over and over) until I was confronted with all the mute NPCs in ArcheAge.

Well here is the thing, I am looking at the game for the Elder Scroll experience. I am not looking for an MMO experience, in fact I really dislike MMO's ... I hate the grind. So I guess my question is, is this game an Elder Scroll's experience or just another MMO. From the stuff I have seen it just looks like a nice Dark Age of Camelot with a Elder Scrolls twist.
I'd say it is somewhere in between; which is why it catches so much flak from both sides. I wouldn't say it is real grindy; I've seen a lot worse, but I am not the kind of player that rushes to near max level and then wonders where all the content went.
I played ESO through out the betas, so my experience isn't up to date.

For me, I would say that it is no where near as comparable to the previous Elder Scrolls experience concerning the story, the immersion and the combat.

If you are looking for an Elder Scrolls game with those three criterias then I would look elsewhere, or at least wait until the game price drops
