Then there was a steam sale and the "Recommended For You" section listed a bunch of games from that genre. I wanted to fix that and found this thread. The solution I found was not listed though:
Steam window top right corner, to the left of the controller icon is your [account name].
[account name]->Account Details->Preferences->Tags to Filter Out.
Lets you enter up to 3 tags you want to see less of.
...
So if you give directly to charity instead? It's not easier?
1. Scroll down on your main store page until you see "Your Discovery Queue."
2. Click on "Learn More" at the upper-right of the queue.
3. On the next page, just below the queue, click the button "Customize your queue."
4. Under "Exclude products with these tags" type the tag you don't want to see and hit "Add."
5. Click "OK" and Enjoy!
This change will apply to the "Featured & Recommended" section as well.
This does not work. I did this and put multiplayer in the exclue products with these tags and it is still one of my tags. I restarted steam and still there. I don't like being told what I like.
Scroll down to "TAGS TO FILTER OUT."
Enter the them.
Scroll to the bottom and click "save."
I imagine there are 3 tag priority levels in the store:
Recommended > Normal > "Filtered Out".
Am I right?
All the solutions that have been mentioned in this thread moves the tag from Recommended to "Filtered Out", not to Normal level.
I don't often like survival games, but a handful of my favourites have it as a tag. And thank's to Steam's algorythm, the store prioritises the tag because of those few games.
Exactly. There are at least a couple of tags that I would like to change from "recommended" to "normal" because it's not that I don't want to see games with those tags, it's that I just don't want Steam prioritizing games with those tags.
Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be a way to do that.
ahahahahahaha THIS PRANK XD)))
