Away status - some questions

Ive sent a message to a friend and it showed up that he is away.
Now I got some questions does this show up automatically when he is gone for a few minutes like 10 or 20 ..

And does it show up more than once? Because I sent him a message again after (in a new window) and it hasnt told me that he is away.

I dont know if this is the correct forum for it, but I hope you can still answer my questions :)

Yes, if your friend is away (about 5min) his status will be set to "away" from steam automatically. But your friend can change his status to "away" manually too. Even if he is online and uses steam.

Aslong as your friend is away or have set up manually to the "away" status youll should get the chat message/information once in every new window.

Random Sideinfo
- "Busy" can only be set by you/your friend manually
- "Snooze" triggers up automatically when your friend set the computer on sleep mode (i do not mean standby)

BUT: Some people reported some bugs with the steam status too. Like somebody is online but will show up "away" even if the person try to change manually from away to online. So hope your friend didnt got that kind of stuff ;)
