I can't understand how Steam can Ask you to Buy Game's That You Can Get For Free from the Developer's Like EA,Epic,GOG,Luna And Amazon give away for free.

game prices are set by that games developer/publisher, not steam. if you want to know why the developers prices they way they do, go ask them.

Steam doesn't upload games for you to buy. The publishers and developers do that. So if you bought a game on Steam, that means EA, Epic, etc... uploaded it there for you to buy.

If they proceeded to give it away for free in another place, and keep it available for sale on Steam. That is the fault of the owner of the game. Not Steam. Steam is just like a supermarket, not the product.

You should ask developers/publishers about it.

You got that really backward my friend. In this case Amazon is willing to spend money to give you something freely, not the other way around. If the publisher don't want to give the game free on Steam then Valve has absolutely no say in this.

Have you never heard of the concept of a sale or promotion? Amazon is simply another store front you can shop at...

I rather pay full price on Steam than get anything from Epic for free.

I'm amazed that the OP failed to use apostrophes correctly four times and doesn't seem to understand capital letters at all.

edit: miscounted the number of incorrect apostrophes :P

How is deciding to pay for something robbery?

Also I think you've made a few too many assumptions about Valve's involvement with non-Valve products being sold on Steam.

Yet your post history suggests you're happy to buy into the rip off that is live service games.

Which is only partly true. Valve sets the framework conditions and also makes recommendations. In addition, there have been illegal price agreements in the past.

Not included, price increases since covid. Should actually be investigated again by the related authorities in this respect. Last lawsuit 2024 for violating U.S. antitrust law.

There were also adjustments such as 2023 with regard to minimum prices. And always on board, geoblockades which are also controversial.

the answer is the same

It’s not steams choice? It’s the publishers choice on how much they sell on each platform. Blame EA, not Steam.

edit:replace the ea with whichever pub you are talking about this time

I've seen games that are "free, pay what you want" on itch.io and like $10 on Steam, and I've treated that as a free trial on itch and then I bought the game on Steam once I knew I'd like it.

It's more convenient for me and it financially supports the person who made the thing I like. Win-win.

Steams just a way of buying games from developers. Steam doesn't make the decisions in the prices of games. If they were, they would make all games be at a max of 20 dollars.

Valve's own suggested pricing says otherwise.

You would think that after they were free on one platform, they would have an permanent discount on all platforms. Sales should drop after getting it free, so why bother keeping up the higher prices after you created less demand for your product.

Be weary of those who bring you gifts.

There’s a reason those platforms are tempting you with freebies.
