Is valve going to fix these new problems they broke with the new os on steam deck
So i heard a few mins ago this new steam os update is bricking steam decks and making consoles go into a boot loop. Is this legit and if it is are they actively working on a fix? I havent had mine brick yet but it has problems with booting and only fix ive seen so far is,a force restart. Anyone including devs got any info on this please? Id rather not have my console get bricked from over heating

You may want to ask in the Steam Deck forum

From what I can tell from the people who commented on the update notes, the boot loop was related to the client, not the OS. I personally never got the boot loop, and some of the people who complained about it commented later the same day to report that it had been fixed.

It's not bricking the computer. Bricking means it would need manual intervention or more to get it working again.
I appreciate the response. Ya im not too informed here. So the whole bug for the overheating thing and slider is fixed is what your saying?

Looks like it was fixed in this update.
Updates aren't "bricking" Steam Decks.

Sometimes there are minor problems that arise with updates, but these are usually quickly fixed, sometimes within hours, with another update.

Also, it's the preview channel. The one that's more unstable than the beta channel. If you're not specifically using your Steam Deck for testing future updates, you don't see these changes at all.

Oh yes, absolutely. I typically run on the beta channel, and only once did I run into a problem annoying enough to roll it back to stable until they ironed it out. If you're running on preview you have to expect problems. You've basically elected to test it. That's what it's there for.

The people who report bricking also report using plugins. Since there's no plugin interface for SteamOS, the plugin is quite frankly to blame.

You are severely underestimating the amount of FOMO that's going around. Whether it's Early Access or beta-releases, people must have it.
