Cheap games or a scam?
You can buy games, not only Steam versions, from so-called discount sites. You can very often get a good deal, if you watch your six. Like the Romans said, "buyer beware" or "caveat empor".
Not only do sellers advertise lower prices than elsewhere, they often offer additional discounts.
The problem is, these discount codes are often rejected at checkout, and are simple clickbait.
Also, you always end up paying more that the advertised price. Where retailers world wide will sell you their product at the price initially shown, the whole branch of game reseller has no problem adding all kind of exorbitant costs at checkout.
I saw a reseller add 8 euros to the final price for the use of Ideal as payment method. When you think they pay probably less than 50 euro cents to the bank for each transaction, you know you are definitely being scammed.
The cheapest Ideal price I found was more than 2,50 euro.
The branch definitely needs to be regulated to end these Wild West practices.

Stop buying from grey market resellers and use recognised retailers only https://isthereanydeal.com/
Same BS. The bait you with a low price and charge you with a higher one. But they don't bother explaining why.
Are you affiliated to the site?
I never have any issues because I vet all my stores and NEVER click referral links for ads.

Neither do I, so I don't really know what you're referring to. I don't doubt you're a very smart guy.

Maybe you don't know how it works. Here is one example.

No they don't. Isthereanyreal deal provides live fixed pricing for games (not marketplaces) across all the reputable retailers. What you see is what the price is on the site. I've bought hundreds of games this way and not was once the price raised or did I have to pay more.

Whatever you're doing, you're doing it wrong.

isthereanydeal isn't a store itself. It just compiles the information so you can see if it's on sale at another store. It's usually recommended as a starting point because they won't promote shady grey market sites. They only promote legitimate ones.

If you're still wary of it, just buy on Steam itself and forget those third party sites entirely. Personally the only third party site I use is Humble Bundle.
My aim was to draw attention to some practices I consider unacceptable, For the rest, anybody is free to think what they want and buy games where they want.

Once again, buy from legitimate retailers and then you wont be deceived with additional fees. Also some sites don't track their data accurately or update offers so you can be mislead by the price you see especially if you are using dlcompare which literally promotes scam retailers and resellers. Isthereanydeal promotes retailers who are legitimate and obtain keys direct from the publisher.
no comment further. I see you like preaching, so just jeep at it. I don't mind.

I don't mind if you enjoyed being scammed, so please continue.

The publishers often have a list of approved partners, exp Google sega approved partners.

There are some dodgy ones and you could end up with your game access revoked.

make a good friend network, then you can see what games are worth buying / etc. many are scams indeed, such a games worth 600$ that become 6$ to then go back to 600$ is the weirdest crap to me. But I own over 600 legitimate games, am a huge fan of DOSbox, which is allowing for many DOS based games to be born again on steam.

It's funny that the OP is complaining about all these shady practices and then proceeds to list a referral site that they use which is full of scam retailers and resellers.
