Is it safe to ignore steam sale till the final day?
I've read that all previous deals return at the lowest cost on the final 2 days of steam sale. I frankly don't want to spend time checking back steam 3 times a day for flash deal. Would I miss anything if I ignore steam until the final day of sale and then go shop everything at once?

During the winter sale, I think only the most popular games returned at their lowest, so you might miss out on some great deals if you ignore the sale until the last day.

That's been the pattern in recent years, but there's no guarantee this year will be the same and you surely won't get one from Steam.

Flash sales do not return at the end of the sale, flash sales are exactly that and thus you might miss out on some great discounts. I would know, I missed out on several the last time around!

There is traditionally an encore of the most 'popular' sales at the end, but no, everything doesn't just go to the lowest price on the last day.

If it's a flash sale or a daily deal there is a chance to miss it at that price if you don't buy it at that time.

Almost. I would buy the game you want if it's on a flash/daily deal. Because that thing about all previous deals is a big stinking lie. Most popular: yes. All: in your dreams.

You would miss a lot of deals, because the last day it's only some of the most popular sales.

Thanks for confirmation. Man, you shouldn't trust 'tips on steam summer sale' articles you see on web. Many of those claim that the last 2 days of encore sales entail entire deal made during the sale.

In the end it's just like... you don't need to sit and stare at Steam all day during the sale, but it doesn't hurt to periodically check it. But then I always have my laptop with me so it's not a big deal for me to open Steam.

Also, if I remember correctly you get a notification by mail if a game on your wishlist has a flash or a daily deal.

If you wait till the final day you

1) will likely get only the 'big' titles on a repeat sale
2) Steam will probably get overloaded and you may miss any deals depending

Aka NEVER wait till the last 1hour to buy something. If its on sale. Get it. Because you can't whine about the steam servers being down if you don't make the sale period.

It's an annoying way to conduct a sale, artificial time sensitive crap.

Note almost everything that goes on sale is on sale for at least 24 if not 48 hours.

Aka you have PLENTY of time to buy something if you see it.

May I ask, there are games that show
"SUMMER SALE! Offer ends 22 June"

Will these games appear on flash sales with a higher discount?

Not all games will, so don't gamble on it if its a must-have game if it's at your desired sale price.
Yes u will have to check in 2 times a day every 12 hrs starting at 10am Pacific Time to review new sales.
Flash Sales do not return to Flash Sale discount during the last 2 days.
Don't trust your Wishlist discount price, as the Complete Edition or Series Bundle may have 75%+ off and not showing it within the Wishlist. Click the game's Store page manually and check.

Yes, some will. For example this sale: 'Shadow Warrior' 90% off, 'Shadow Gate' 85% off, 'Blackguards Franchise Bundle' 85% off...
