E-mail after buying a gift.
I was thinking about buying a game for my friend this christmas. Bying the game now with the discount att setting the delivery for a later date.

Though, there is a concern with this. Will my friend receive the email about the gift right away or on the date of the delivery? Because if the mail was delivered earlier, that would spoil the whole thing. Does anyone know?

Any help is appreciated :)

Trying to find the exact answer but it's meh. I think if you schedule the delivery date, they'll get the gift on that date. It mentions that you'll get an email letting you know the gift has been sent. I am assuming your friend will get an email as well when they get it?

I read this on here https://help.steampowered.com/en/faqs/view/2C02-3563-B72F-F117

"Scheduled Gifts are stored in your Steam Inventory until they are delivered to the recipient. Click on the Steam Inventory link shown below" (shows an image)

"select Manage gift to select a different delivery date. When that time comes, we'll automatically send the gift to the recipient. You’ll also receive an email letting you know that your gift has been delivered"

So, do it that way and you should be fine. Unless someone else has a better answer.

They will be notified by email and a notification in Steam on the delivery date and time, not a moment earlier.

And if they are in a different time zone, the date/time you set will be delivered in their date/time.

:nkCool:
