Wanting to play a Monster Rancher-esque game

When I was young I used to love playing monster rancher, pokemon, digimon, and even Dragon warrior monsters and I'm wondering if there are any games available to steam that would be similar. Basically I'm looking for something where I can gain or breed creatures in order to gain stronger ones. I just wanna have fun being a monster breeder again. Any suggestions?

What about Pokemon itself? Nintendo released a couple in the recent years, and the next is already announced.

Maybe. Maybe OP has died, or had children, or sold their computer to feed themselves during a pandemic and can't play games anymore.

But maybe, someone, one day, will have the same question as OP, and likely search the internet for an answer.. so I don't think there's any harm in people continuing to answer OP's ancient but important question.
