GOOD OFFLINE GAMES?
I recently purchased a new computer due to old one completely dying on me, i have S!!!LOAD of stuff to download from music to games to movies.

While downloading, are there any fun offline games to play so i dont mess with my download speed? i already have Rome 2. but i was thinking something with good replayability, but not as slow as Rome 2, i can only play it when i feel sophisticated or like i need a sword for some reason.

any suggestions? i like most genres, to include simulators, RPG, RTS, havent seen a good FPS single player in a while...

(this isnt just for me, i figure there are others who are interested in offline games as well.)

Dungeons of Dredmor
Puzzle Quest
Dungeon Siege II
RollerCoaster Tycoon 3

Any of the above — providing that it's your cup of tea — will tide you over until you are done (re)downloading your stuff.

Witcher 2. if you like good story, it gets heavy on lyrics tho so if you dont like reading books or spanding 5 minutes going though converstion.. forget it, fps junkies usually hate that game.. to much talking.. its like Game of thrones.. more politics then actual fighting.

gameplay/combat is ok.. to see full story you need to finish the game 2-3 times.. you make few big choices that change the game.

personally that game for me is worth every peny.

Crusader Kings 2, with all of its DLCs and Europa Universalis IV.
You said you like simulators, but I see you meant more of the actiony type, so my suggestion might be skirting around the gray area here.

Have a look at Uplink: Hacker Elite. Not a bad game once you get the hang of it. It's hacking simulation, and it's completely offline.

EDIT: Before you pick a game, remember that downloading also needs processor power. Even though a game is offline, it shouldn't eat too much CPU or your download will take longer.

Skyrim, oblivion, morrowind, Fallout 3 and new vegas, fable: the lost chapters, Halo, Halo 2, Gears of War. the last three are on disc and not downloadable to my knowledge.
