how could i know what is my activation code before i submit it

i want to know the activation code game to make sure this is the game i bought before i submit it.
and if i get a giveaway too how could i know the game when it is a DCL and i haven't the game and i want to know what is it to buy it

You can't know what game a code is for before you redeem it. If you bought it from a legit site there would be no question as to what game it is for.

You can't. If you didn't buy the game yourself, and have concerns over what it is or if its been redeemed or not you shouldn't be doing a giveaway with it.

If it is a game you do own, there is no testing it out.

FYI - I did this in FIrefox, not sure if it's the same in other browsers.

*When you press F12, select 'Console' on the top bar (it's between Inspector and Debugger)
*The filters will be blue or greyed out, make sure 'XHR' is blue
*Attempt to activate the key - You should see a bunch of GET and POST statements
*Find POST https://store.steampowered.com/account/ajaxregisterkey/ <- there may be more than one

When you click the correct one and scroll to the bottom you'll see a 'line_item_description' that says what the product is. Mine was a character for a de-listed game :/

You can only use the method above to check DLC keys. There is no way to check base games.
