Incompatible game versions?
I've been trying to play with my brother on several games now (M&B, Magicka, Total war) and whenever we try hosting our own game, the other can't join it. We get a message saying the host has a incompatible version of the game. We can however join each other by playing on someone elses hosted game. They shouldn't be incompatible as we normally by them at the same time to try them out with each other.

Any reason why this is happening?

We've tried updating both steam and the games or verifying them. Neither of us have mods installed. We should be on the same versions here seeing as we bought them the same day and downloaded the same day. We can never host and play Steam games together. I don't see why it never works here.
