"Play Game" button active on 2013 Holiday Sale badge
I noticed this a few days ago and figured it was some sort of artifact having to do with the current (2014 Summer Adventure) sale. Today the sale is over, all the Summer Adventure trading cards are gone, but I still have this "Play Game" button on my badge page for the 2013 Holiday Sale. Clicking the button takes me to the store front-page.

Just me or does anyone else see this?

Nope. I have the same bug for a couple of days. It's a little iritating but doesn't bother me that much.

It's still there - steam://run/267420
I noticed this also. While it isn't too big of an issue, it does break consistency so I would like to see it gone. Hopefully, they're working on it.
Have the Play button next to mine as well, keeps throwing me off when I'm looking for games that still have card drops.
I tried this and no dice. I'm using the beta client.

In addition to starting the Steam client, I always open my profile using Chrome. Viewing my badge page showed the 'Play Game' button for the holiday sale.

I stopped the Steam client, renamed 'ClientRegistry.blob' and restarted the Steam client. I still see the 'Play Game' button on my badge page both via the Steam client and via Chrome. At least for me, the above solution did not work.
Now I know that I'm not the only one having the problem. It's not too much, but bit annoying.
Same situation over here.
Still occurring for me as well.
Yep still there even with all the updates recently.
It'll be there for ever unless Valve specifically place an exception in it for that pages code.

It's because historically, when a sale was on they would change the actual web site that is hosted for the store (lets call it storeindex.html). This meant that the actual web site was altered and after the sale was finished it was put back to how it was before.

These days, they have started creating an 'app' page for the sale (the same was that a game page is put together) and re-direct the store to that page. Because the badges page is set up to show the 'play game' icon for any app on that page, it shows it for the sale event.

They would need to add in some sort of exception along the lines of "If appno = 'xxxxx' then ignore, else show 'playgame' icon".

Adding a line of BASIC is obviously beyond them then, amirite?

Except it wasn't there prior to 1 month after the sale was over. It just popped up after series of updates one day. So this is update caused not sale caused.

Yes it was there "prior to 1 month after the sale was over"; it was there during, after & has been there ever since.

Nope not on my page, nor a lot of peoples pages. This isn't the only thread on this subject. Lots of us noticed it popping up a month after the sale was finished. And I check my badge page daily if not more. I noticed.
Issue is still not fixed.
