Anyone else notice that most of these games have been on sale already.

I dunno, I think it's pretty decent. Then again I haven't been using steam for very long, so it's all new sales to me.

A very, very bad marketing decision. The price drop of the summer sale cards shows it clearly. They built 5 groups, and only ONE eq. 20% of their customers could win free games. So the other custerms held back untill another day. ;)

And even that, only 30 persons of over an estimated minimum million members per GROUP had a chance to win free games. It's like a homeopathic medication.

You HOPE, that it works. :D Sorry, Valve, try it again next summer.

And btw. fix your alghrithms.

1. Do not repeat sales over and over and over again.

2. Do not stack AAA titles and indie titles against each other in the community choices. This is plain dumb. In these case you can simply skip the voting.

3. Do not sell the same games in communiity choices and normal sales.

4. During voting, show always the same amount of titles on each side. If a game cannot be sold in some countries, sell another one. Otherwise these votes are not real, because naturaly I vote the side that has MORE games for me to offer.

How hard can it be to programm somthing like that properly. Hell, you don't even the a PROGRAM for that. Only a normal functioning BRAIN would do.

you see it takes 3 functional brains to run a summer sale correctly, valve only had 2 on hand for the sale and no matter what they did they could not find a 3rd

Honestly, a lot of good games are on sale, the problem is I've play most of them.

I've managed to snag quite a few titles but there are some games I just won't go for at their "sale" price this time around. Seeing 25% as the Summer Sale discount is pretty weak, the Summer Sale used to be when you'd see almost everything going for 60%+ and seems like 50% is top discount for most titles this year. Kinda discouraging when compared to the past but still 50% isn't a bad deal. 25%, 33%, c'mon.

+1
Same sales again and again even regurgitating sales from earlier in the week but now at a new price which is pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥ because you dont know if the purchase you make now at 50% will not crop back up later at 66-75% off just to fk you over. Seen a few items do that already and I would be livid if it happened to me.
Sadly a lot of the sales games also have very scathing reviews which put me right off such as nearly everything Early Access or the fallouts. I bought fallout 3 some time back and its totally unstable even with the unofficial fix so when I see new vegas has reviews talking of the same problem I just wont risk it even for £5 which is a shame because I loved that game on xbox and would really like to see it running with mods as I do with skyrim

I was under the impression that Steam will reimburse you the appropriate amount if a game's price is discounted shortly after you purchased it.

Yeah, most games have been seen already, but assetto corsa was a nice deal.

Not a lot I want anyway, except maybe RE 4, but even then I'll just wait until later in the year.
