Looking for a game I can play while drawing
So picked up drawing recently and have been trying to do around 1-2 hours of it a night. However my only games I have been playing have been Dota 2 or single player rpgs. Both of which take all my concentration.

I need a game I can sit back and make a decision or move every 20-30 seconds and wait and let the game play out. Iv heard Civ before but really the game wont continue if you leave it. I looking for something that will keep running real time while I play so I can continue making progress as I draw. The sims 3 was actualy pretty good for this but really I cant play that game without hitting 100k cash moneys in 2 hours. Mount and Blade was also pretty good for this. Played way to much over the last few months though.

TLDR :

Need a real time game I can alternate between drawing and playing and still make progress. So no turn based games. Cheers.

I own and have played loads of rts/sim building games on steam and banished has no nag screens that pause the game and make you click next or something.. I could recommend loads of them but at some point they will pause the game in some way and make you click next..

Anno2070 is really good but if you go off to do something youll probably not do so well.. :)
The Tropcio series is great but they do have pause screens that pop up from time to time.

Wow thanks for the detailed response. I was actualy looking into anno as well but wasnt sure if it was a game I could start a town and build it up. Because from what I played of the older ones it felt a little like that. Next screens are ok as long as they arnt every 20 seconds or so. I draw at my computer desk after all. Ill give banished a shot though. Apparently from the reviews though it doesnt really have that much of an end game. So not sure how well itll work out in the long term!

The end game in banished is just being able to survive... If you don't mind the odd pause screen Tropico 3 with the expansion is on sale atm for a crazy price.. It's toatlly worth picking it up.

Tropico 4 does look better and is also a great game but costs a little more

and id wait for a sale on 5 unless you are a real fan of the series..

Overall Tropico is a lot more fun, has missions plus sandbox. Banished is great but a little more serious and only a sandbox game.

DayZ, if you can hold the 'W' key down with something :P

I'd recommend ether a turn based strategy like XCOM, or something with a good soundtrack like ZEZ. I'm an Illustrator, I draw a lot but I do a lot of editing on my computer so I struggle to play games at the same time, so I listen to a lot of music instead.

Thank you all for your comments!. Sadly iv already played XCOM to death :P. I picked up Tropico 4 and banished so hoping these will both keep me going for a while. Really hoping Tropico is kinda like a simcity but more stupid and less mass scale. I recal in number 3 or 2 they didnt have a sandbox mode. So will be cool to see how it works in 4.

To SMITH > I normaly play for 30 seconds draw for 30 seconds over and over again. Gives me time to think and I dont really ever get bored of the game or the drawing. I find if I grind out drawing by its self it can get real un fun and start to impact my work xD. Again thanks everyone.

-Fun to play
