Best fps and why?

I love playing shooters, but so far I haven't got any cool ones on Steam CS:Go seems pretty popular. What's the best shooter on Steam, in your opinion?

"Borderlands", without a doubt.

Don't have "Borderlands 2" yet, but from what I hear it might only be 2nd. Which would make sense, since it's named appropiately.

personally i love battlefield for the large battles, sfx, and teamwork, but the above recommendations are really good. BL2 is pretty fun(free on ps plus) but haven't played enough for an opionion.

Team Fortress 2 is good and free. CS:GO is also good, but TF2 is more fun in my opinion.

Mech warrior Online.
FPS with mechs, complete awsome total PvP focused 12 VS 12.
variation of mech builds and nice graphics.
no respawn death is death, it request brains to win not Aimbot.

Rising Storm/Red Orchestra 2

It's the best fps multiplayer game I've ever played. Another addictive one is Call of Duty: Black Ops 2.

I never saw or felt any of that while playing both Borderlands 1 and 2. In fact it got worse in Borderlands 2. Both games are so lifeless when it comes to shooting that there is no joy in using the weapons.
Builds where so boring and it still just made you shoot with the same weapon.

As for good FPS games. The last 3 Battlefield games. That'd be Bad Company 2, Battlefield 3 and 4. You won't get anything remotely like that in any other game. The last 2 are on Origin.

Yeah i got extremely bored with Borderlands. Yeah there's tons of "different" weapons, but they're all the same, really. There's maybe like 6 actuall different types of weapons. Before I first played Borderlands, when i heard all the fuss about it, I thought it was gonna be like Ratchet & Clank in terms of weapons, but with more. I was sorely msitaken. The enemies and missions were extremely boring, having you visit the same area 20something times to kill the same enemies, over and over.

imo Republic Commando has the best single player of any FPS I've ever played
