pc gaming is awesome

got my first gaming pc 6 month's ago , (used to play total war a while ago on our home computer ) anyway just want to say it was the best decision i've ever made , the pc community is so helpful , and i didnt realise keyboard and mouse gaming could be so much fun either , there are obvious faults with pc gaming and some of the stuff on steam but generally my experiance so far has far more outwayed console gaming ! pc gaming rocks haha :)

@genpattonbr console gamer's should read what you have said ! it is so true ! i'm not saying i never played pc games ive always played total war games on our home computer , but what i should of realised when i was younger (im 20 now) that it was so more practical to just buy a gaming pc , i dont even mind missing out on the occasional console exclusive games , i used to play fallout on console , done quite a few hours on new vegas on my pc and jeez its just so much better the mods are amazing , and the amount of GOOD free games you can get is far superior to console , i can honestly say ive probably spent less than 150 pounds im from uk btw ( i dont have too many games on steam i have bought on assassins creed heritage collection for like 25 pounds , football manager for 20 , i got total war rome 2 from game for 10 pounds !!! plus loads of other's and all the decent sales on steam (steam has its faults , even though i have just got my gaming pc 6/7 months ago , i have been a member for 5 years i think ) fifa 14 for 20 , i got both witcher game's the other day for under a tenner, and dark soul's i , know there oldish especially the 1st but still , i almost feel ridiculous the amount of money i have spent on console game's , like literally feel robbed when i have bought so many current games for cheap haha :) thanks for the welcome by the way everyone ! be sure to add me as , i'm trying to get a bigger friend group on steam as everyone i know uses console's -_-

It's great that you're enjoying PC gaming. Unfortunately, most developers have stopped caring about us.

@claddoz i'm kind of the same if i had actually know people who pc game'd i would of got a proper gaming pc back when i was like 12 haha i'd be dissapointed if gta was released for xbox one and ps4 and not pc though as i dont have my 360 anymore and probably wont be getteing a new console anytime soon or maybe even at all .

@shasow yeah i know what you mean , i was pretty shocked at for example the state of rome 2 when it came out , thats pretty much the only game ive gone out and bought pretty much when its still newley relased and i was pretty dissapointed however it seams to of massively improved over the last few months ! i think dev's will probably be looking into the pc market more as it seam's to be on the rise ,i found it funny how we usually get cheap enough games on release however we will all have to pay 40/50 for watch dogs , some people where i live have got the game before proper release date and they say it is a fantastic game !

yeah pc gaming has its plus sides but the real problem is the cost of pcs lol.

This is relative over time.

The initial investment in a gaming PC is a lot higher than a console, but from there, prices just go downhill. You save on the price of the games (a PC game is a small fraction of the same game on Playstation or XBox).

Plus, if your PC gets outdated, there is no need to buy a new one. Just upgrade the graphics card, add more RAM, and that`s it. With a console you have to always keep buying the newest console in order to be able to play the newest titles.

Besides, in a PC, you can still play on a modern PC ANY game from .. always! There one little thing that is called "backwards compatibility", and that most PC gamers take for granted. I still have lots of titles from the 90's that I still love playing. In order for that to work on a console, you'd still have to keep the old console somewhere.

I have and always will be a PC gamer, and dy5an, welcome to the community!

I agree...well said. I paid more for my desktop, but I can play AAA titles and I can upgrade at any time. And the games are a lot less expensive than with a PS or XBox. Also, I can play my old Gabriel Knight's or any of the other oldies. You buy your machine once, but you're always spending money on games.

That is because Watchdogs is a very recent game (well, it was released just a few hours ago). Its price, however, will drop a lot faster on PC than on consoles. Expect to see it on sale on July, when Steam is expected to have its huge annual summer sale.

Another thing I forgot to mention: how many terabytes of games can you have installed on a PC? WIth a console you are limited to its internal HDD (and not many ppl are able to hack it in order to upgrade the HDD) or have to keep lots of discs laying aroung, which takes up space and may degrade over time.

If you run out of HDD space on a PC, how easy is it to add another one? There is absolutely no hacking involved, no loss of warranty and so on.

Suince you are new to PC, IDK if you're already familiar with Humble Bundle, Bundle Stars, Indie Gala, Indie Royale and Groupee. These are websites that sell indie games (and sometimes AAA titles) for extremely low prices. Most of them have weekly promotions. They are a great way to buy games for very, very cheap, and they games are always activated through either Steam (90% of the time) or Desura (10%). Sometimes the games you buy are entirely DRM free, so you can just download and install the game.

Sites like these are one huge advantage we PC gamers have over those kids who play with consoles.

thanks dude ill definitley look them up , i mean ive always played pc but never instead of console and never had an actual decent pc to play every like i said before this is my first proper gaming pc , and yeh ive got watchdogs mate it definitly needs some work :/
