Local co-op racing?
Can anyone point me to a good local co-op racing game to play? Looking for something more on the sim end than an arcade type. When I search for local co-op I don't see an racing titles. BTW - what's the difference between co-op and local co-op?

Local cop-op is pretty rare in racing games (outside of consoles), and is a feature that nobody would want/use in one that's "more on the sim end than an arcade type." Splitscreen would be atrocious for that.

Never mind the whole bit where you're asking for local co-op games but apparently don't even know what that means.

As I understand it, local co-op means split screen/2 controllers. Is that not right? I am trying to clarify so that I know that I AM asking for the right thing. What's wrong with that? And I'm also trying to figure out the difference between the two terms which seem the same to me.

Heads-up racing with 2 controllers would seem like an obvious thin to want. I like to race, my kid likes to race, we'd like to race each other - duh. Why would split-screen be atrocious for a racing sim? We're playing on a large LCD TV so I'd think there would be enough room to make it a decent experience, if the PC can handle both streams of course.

I always find it interesting when people take the time to insult someone for being stupid instead of Instead of using that same time to just provide the answer that they seem so obviously to have.

Actually I just found good info. on what the differences are here: https://steamcommunity.com/discussions/forum/7/648814842853378909/

I guess what I'm wondering about is a racing game with local multiplayer.

The early need for speed games had split screen from what I remember.

its historic.

console have normally been connected to bigger screens. Split screen on a 15-17" monitor is cramped.

This of course is now irrelevant as its just as easy to connect a pc to a big screen.

The difference between co-op and local co-op have 1 massive difference.

Co-op is online(global), and is played with anyone around the world. These people are all anonymous, but its fun playing co-op than local co-op(because there is less people on local).

Local co-op is where you play on your local wifi (within your area). Local has more downsides though, such as less players to play with.

So overall, co-op is better than local, unless if you want to play with just your friends. co-op can has some laggs due to all the players online.
