Only failed purchases can have the cart saved with the sales price for an additional 72 hours.
It was 18:00 got
I don't expect price changes to happen that late in the day honestly.
If the basket is supposed to freeze prices in time, then sure. And if it's not, then it's fine for them to change. So the question is, did you assume the behavior was like you wanted. Or can you point to some concrete implementation specs where Valve defined that adding a product into the cart locks in the price.
I'd also assume you'd feel a little annoyed if you put a game in the cart and then sale began and the price didn't change and you ended up buying the game at full price.
Oh, I know. If a sale starts, update the cart. If a sale ends, don't update the cart? How convenient.
Lots of people aren't aware what Valve's schedule it. You wouldn't be the first to assume it revolves around your schedule.
Notice the part where it tells you when the sale does end?
That is there for any game on sale.
I disagree, they could have done more to ensure people don't miss deals. A timer next to the item in the cart if its nearing the end of the deal so people know to purchase sooner rather than later.
Also they could make it so that carts empty themselves after a few hours so that items in the basket can keep their prices. There's s wishlist for people who wish to stack games they want.
That said, it's not my fault in the least. I feel robbed. I mean, it's only a game I'll go torrent now instead but I'd have liked to have owed it legitimately.
I was scrolling through the special offers. There was no timer. Also I didn't linger on the game page cause I knew u wanted it. I just hit add to cart. After that there was no warning or prompt to conclude the transaction.
Not to mention games go on sale all the time, get it next time.... or cough up the 15 quid for the game.
Uhm, but it is.
It is what it is.
Nah, it's not. This post was not an opportunity for people like you to be ♥♥♥♥♥♥. It's a flaw in the mechanics. I didn't know the offers changed at 6pm on a Monday evening. I didn't expect it. There was no clear warning or prompt to finish the purchase.
If I was in a shop and I put that game in my irl cart and while browsing the other items a member of staff came up, took it out of my cart and multiplied the price by 9 and put it back I would abandon the cart and leave the shop because that is not how that is done. Why should it be any different here? That's right, it shouldn't.
I didn't say it was right. Ultimately I'm done caring. I tried to do it the right way. It's a good game, I'm enjoying it.
