Games with spears or lances

Hey all I have an awesome question that ive been looking into for weeks now. Does anyone know of a 3rd person game that has a spear or lance weilding class? Im referring to something like monster hunter the lancer class. I miss mh grew atached to it. I know somewhere on steam theres a f2p mmo game that has a lance weilding class but after all my digging i cant find that game any longer. I remember you could play as a devil class, and a giant class as well...it was like perfect world but better

Aside from that just looking for any other potential spear weilding classes or classes that use lances. Any help in this would be phenominal ty in advance

There are probably a number of western RPGs and RPG-inspired games with fantasy settings where you can choose to play a character who wields a polearm (such as Torchlight, which I've been playing recently, albeit with a character using wands and guns).

One of the playable adventurers in this class uses a spear, and all the adventurers play differently based on their weapons: http://store.steampowered.com/app/70400

Off of Steam, I can also think of the Castlevania games. As well as the Fire Emblem games but those are more conceptualized.

I take it you're looking for a game where you can really get the feel of wielding a spear in combat? I'm not sure how good my suggestions will be. For some reason I'm thinking about the Mount & Blade series, which I'm thoroughly unfamiliar with, but I've heard it's nice as a medieval combat simuator.

It's not specifically a class, but there's spears in Dark Souls. Also I second Recettear, I'm currently playing it and it's a lot of fun.

Hey dark souls is how i got reobsessed lol. I am currently doing a solo playthrough in number 2 scholar of the first sin as a lance weilder with great shields. God the charging attack is what brought back memories of mh. Im gonna check that other game out tho, thank you

What do you mean? Like adding lances and spears to games? Skyrim has a spear mod I know of but they dont jab like spears they use the sword anim

I mean the mechanics...making a mod where you can only swing the spear like a sword doesn't accomplish much.

It does suck that spears are apparently not as "cool" as swords.

If I ever make a JRPG I'll make sure the main character uses a spear.

And one of the antagonists will have a really cool warhammer.

For modders? Probably. But for companies like Beth they just choose not to add them in, probably because as far as games go they're not that popular. Morrowind had them.

And for the OP - Mount and Blade has spears.

Whelp monster hunter has those. Im currently looking into monster hunter frontier, i found 2 helpful tuts on how to dl. If you use google chrome itll allow you to translate from the ♥♥♥ to english on the site page they give...

1st guide i didnt use

only downside to this pc version is.....its in ♥♥♥ in game. So i imagine you might miss dialogue, as well have no clue what is used for what when it comes to making stuff...so ill be trying to learn the language used in game to the game portion at least lol.

OOOOh yes Tera has a class that uses a lance and shield!!

I forgot alll about the name, that is the game i was referring to in the description to anyone wondering.

Tera is on steam a f2p mmo with gameplay similiar to mh...live play not a click and sit still...active play

The Cursed Crusade - but it's a disappont after all. Also the old Blade of Darkness - nice game with Amazon character - using polearms. New PS4 Exclusive - Nioh. Upcoming game - Deep Down. Soul's-like-game - Lords of the Fallen, but it's also a bit disappoint. Morrowind has plenty of polearms, they have reach and does damage. Skyrim has some acceptable mods, most of 2-handed spears just using 2-handed weapon animation (no any stab), but it not so bad with naginata, halberts and quarterstaff. There's at least one good mod with 1-handed spears, they look too heavy, but authentic - it's "Spears By Soolie", not be confused with other trash. And Dark Souls - one of the best games with polearms, but you already know that, I guess.
