Does buying a trading card count as a stream store purchase?
So I heard that in order to use the steam market, you must have a thirty days old stream store purchase, and if you don't buy asomething in a year, you cannot use the market. But what if you brought trading cards, would that count as a purchase that will allow you to use the stream market?

I very much doubt

And even if they did, you would need to spend at least 5 bucks anyway.

Chicken and the egg problem.

In order to buy trading cards, you have to buy them from the Steam Market -- which you can't use without a purchase.

And no, it doesn't count as a direct purchase either for the 1 year rule. However, the $5 rule doesn't apply to the 30-365 day rule. It can be a purchase of any amount, but it has to be direct from Steam.

Rule of thumb:
Anything that BRINGS money INTO Steam counts as a purchase for limitation purposes.

Buying a card does not count, as it only moves money already inside steam (wallet)
Adding funds to purchase the card does count, since it brings money from outside into Steam.

Since you buy trading card from fellow users, NOT from the steam store … No, it doesn't count.
