but games like Civilizations don't live up to the nastyness of humanity like GTA does.

For one thing only:

Civilisations doesn't allow for the bad stuff like communism or nazi factions or Gangis Khan's and Chinese Xing dynasties political governments.

Ok. I do not see that in the Civilization series. I think are you are referring to Civ 7. I understand the concept of history being built in layers.

no it's not ever in the game. never was.

It's not about Civs or Gta or any one game.

It's about real life experiences in game that have been changed by our societies we lost due to behaviours we call serious crimes or genocide etc.

Exactly Genghis Khan is in the Civilization series, but I am guessing you mean what he did in the real world.

P.S. It depends on the game you play when it has what are you referring to. I play games really not to learn about the real world. There are exceptions like Planet Zoo.

precisely! he ruled brutally. not even apart of the game which really puts an end to the governing bodies and structure that built it. of course i'm not looking for the disaster it was, disgusting. But that which it mastered and it's cause for deterioration and reason for dismantling.

i love playing building games. Jurassic park for instances. kind of real. lol and honestly a part of me wants dinosaurs to roam the earth. and in facts wholly mammoth and sabre tooth tigers are coming. proven fact.

In JWE, you do research or locate DNA to use to create the dinosaurs. They are clones with some dinosaur DNA with living animal DNA.

they are hidden in sites you have to go on exhibitions for. this will grant rewards that in a fossil facility you have the option to sell minerals, extract dna of a known dinosaur and traits from fossils.

in the research facility you have the option to study dna traits and in the incubation facility you can edit the genome of set traits and the dna is already combined from the extraction from the sap and fossil.

The study of traits in the research faculty would be combining traits from different dino's, and animals, reptiles, amphibians, and birds.

there is not that much choice which traits you can combine. they are already set.

Games being more "realistic" defeats the purpose of playing them to escape reality. That's why gaming is mucked up these days with boring realistic open worlds, social political themes and expensive GPUs for the push of pointless graphical effects you'll ignore once the novelty wears off.

Games are fiction. Game developers decide what they do or do not put in their games. I can't blame the civ devs for not including such stuff.

If I want a realistic game, I'll find one but I can already tell you I won't even try to look. I want to enjoy myself and have fun.

Laws are for that very reason because we have said no as a culture to certain things.

And games often aren't realistic because we said "no" as gamers to such things.

There is a reason non/lesser-realistic themes, aesthetics, races, etc are popular.
