Why does Steam take so long for installations?
Hi, Why does it always take so long to install something in Steam? I've just started Delta Force, at the beginning it said it would take about 1 1/2 hours for the ridiculous 44 GB. That's now over(2,5h) but the game is only at 55% :steamsad:. No other Plattform(Battlenet, Epic) takes so long. What's going wrong with Steam?

Nothing is wrong with Steam. The only platform where I don't get my max download speed and installation is PSN.

Steam does work differently in how they handle downloads and installing. Certain setups regarding security software and such can cause slow downs in that. Check your settings.

What should I check (there's not really anything to set in Steam)? 5h for a 44 GB installation is really ridiculous, in less time I have CoD completely installed (about 200gb) with the same “settings”, only that it was Battlenet...there is no need to talk nice. I could bet that it takes just as long if I turn off FW & AV.

Recently installed Doom 2016, a 68 gb game, on a 7200 rpm HDD. it took 30 - 40 minutes.
