As I said. You are a real life saver. Thanks
This is not true and also it still tests positive on ClamAV. So this won't help you at all.
Clam av detects something by a generic definition. That COULD fit a trojan, but does not have to be one.
Even if more than one show a generic detection, it still is not mandatory a real threat.
The security is not depending on clam av.
I keep steam installed. Let us know what you find out.
Ohh my, You are an eye-opener. Thanks
Will do
Yes it is. I just scanned ryzen master and it said last scanned 8 days ago instead of a moment ago since i just uploaded it. So that tells me it didn't scan my file and just gave me someone elses result not mine for the file i just uploaded.
Evidence.

And guess what steam.exe is still detected by ClamAV
You can be sarcastic all you want but I guarantee you the IT guy isn't gonna care anyways and he's not gonna help you play games at work. You have been getting all the answers you could possibly need. And all you got is sass. Sucks for you I guess. Bye Karen!
Oh and steam support isn't gonna care or give you a refund either so don't hold you breath lol.
You are a genious.
*genius
ok good luck with steam support and have a wonderful day!
Yea you can rescan the file but it will rescan the file already on their server. Like i said it goes by the md5 hash of the file all files have a m5 code. And so hence your file that you uploaded don't get scanned. Cause if it did it wouldn't show you the results right away cause it would take time to upload it depending on your connection. So no it don't scan your file that you uploaded but what is already on their server.
Yeah and only if the file on the server is identical to the one you want to upload, because if it was even slightly different, it wouldn't be the same hash... that's the whole point of a hash. If someone had a steam.exe that was even slightly different, it would not show up as already analyzed. So it makes NO difference.
Yea but viruses can infect something with out even changing the md5 hash.
1. remove steam from autostart
2. add steam to the whitelist
1. To remove autostart:-
open this in Regedit:
Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
and just remove entry for steam from there.
This also speeds up booting time for the low-end system.(Hope you know what it means, coz I don't.)
2. to add to whitelist:-
Open windows security> virus and threat protection> manage settings > add or remove exclusions
click on add an exclusion> folder
Select a steam directory and click select a folder...
DONE!!!
This will stop others from detecting steam as a virus...
Hope this helps. :)
