i would not call it a virus finding.
I don't know how those av things work but, my IT guy says "1 security vendor flagged this file as malicious" is NotOK to keep. So He removed steam from the system.
My test said this file was tested 2 days ago.
Your IT guy is either an idiot, or he thinks YOU are an idiot, or he simply doesn't care. Most likely all of those things. And him removing steam is understandable, don't think you're supposed to play games at work. So that's your own problem.
Last updated 4 hour ago sir..... It shows when it was scanned... 4 hour is quit less I think.
Thanks for your opinion of telling me: "Playing games at work is not ok."
As I mentioned here
Really, Thanks very much
No it doesn't just show you the first test, it usually asks if you want to test again, and even if it doesn't, you can test it again by clicking an icon on the results page.
But then you should ask that IT guy, if their security is based on being late to a threat. Only if an antivirus finds something, you react? Is that secure?
Anyway, as a private user, when an antivirus finds something generic,
or even finds something "real" specific, but i know its not a malware by the source,
i contact the antivirus company and let them check for a false positive.
If 99% of antivirus do not see anything, and i know the file is from a secure source, i maybe just ignore it completely.
I think, if someone really wants and is able to ship a malware with steam, they make sure that
clam av
does not find it and ruins that situation.
But i think they are rather worried about others.
If you don't like opinions then close the thread. This thread is more pointless than any of the replies.
If it did scan your file it would say last scanned a moment ago instead it shows last scanned 2 minutes ago or 2 weeks ago etc.
You are awesome, This helps a lot. Thanks.
Just the answer I was looking for, It solved everything. Thanks
Because he's mad he can't be lazy at work because the IT guy removed his steam... So he complains and makes drama.
End of the story, close the tread.
You are a life saver. Thanks for your time.
