Deadlock invite scams

Is that true that people can scam you with deadlock invites? There's a game drought and everyone's begging for an invite - people want you to add them and even me myself tried adding one person and well... nothing happened, no invite yet. I want to bring more attention into this to just be aware if something like this can even happen. Is there a way people can benefit from your neediness to play deadlock?

There's always scams when things are in demand but as long as you follow the correct methods i.e don't pay for someone's promise of access or click on suspicious links etc.. then you'll be fine.
