My Steam artwork was banned. Why?
Hello, my artwork was banned by Steam. The problem is that the banned image is of a 2D woman wearing a swimsuit. Not naked at all So I don't know why it got banned. And the video that I used to make the artwork also came from YouTube.

If you wish to contest the ban on the artwork, contact support.

Also a quick look at your screenshots and artwork shows a lot of adult content and if this image was similar and reported this would be a valid reason.

Even if there was no actual nudity it can still cause issues if suggestive.

Not more "suggestive" than several backgrounds available on the point shop. And those can't even get blurred, unlike artworks.

I did not display adult artwork on my profile because the deleted photos did not contain adult content. Therefore, the image obtained is definitely not the same as what I uploaded in the adult game because the banned image is a long artwork consisting of 5 images joined together.

Remember OP. We now have what are called safe zones. Everyone is offended by anything. Best not to speak, move or be visible. Otherwise, you risk offending someone. Then "they" come after you.

EDIT: Watch this space. Soon this message will be gone as the hammer is coming ;|

Contact Steam Support and query why it was removed so another Support person can take a look and may decide it was mistakenly banned.

Well technically see there are rules. Not everyone reads them, comprehends or interprets them the same way. Not even those judge jury and executioners swinging ban hammers.

User-Uploaded Content
https://help.steampowered.com/en/faqs/view/6862-8119-C23E-EA7B

Some highlights.
Don't bypass Steam's Mature Content Preferences
Don't upload content that you don't have the rights to
Don't upload images of other people without their permission
Don't use content to harass, abuse, or otherwise disparage others
Don’t advertise commercial content
Make sure the content you post matches the space where it is posted. Example: Don’t upload Dota artwork to the Counter-Strike hub.

Not really sure how Valve feels about fair use law, that gives users the right to use copyrighted material without permission "under certain circumstances."

Meanwhile looks at Wallpaper Engine Workshop, UGC of real people, copyright, trademark UGC, nudity, even irl porn videos. If any place besides Steam Artwork needed moderation of UGC in violation it's WPE Workshop

And remember unless your content was stricken automatically by the content analysis on upload, someone probably reported your content to bring it's attention to the moderation, they don't always go looking.

There’s also been cases where perfectly normal profile pictures were removed from a particular user. They contested the ban with Steam support and they admitted the mistake and overturned the ban over 5 times.

I think your chances are likely to getting support’s approval/unban.

That's if you can even get them to answer a ticket 3- 5 days later after the ban is over. The thing is, why are they allowing report abuse on UGC to generate so many new open tickets for users asking them for overturning bans anyway?

I mean you know, we can all see OP's other screenshots and artwork, it's still public, behind a private profile. 218 Followers. All I'm saying is, post questionable UGC, and questionable UGC will get reported. No one opinion of a reporting, user, moderator or support is the same.

"We use Steam's features at our own risk"
At least that is what one support person told me once. Kinda true. Bans are like a box of chocolates.

Steam support has not responded to me yet. Hope to get unbanned

I get it now. The pink top is hard to see and blends into the skin tone.

You used someone else's content and someone reported it.
It was not your picture and you probably didn't have permission to use it.
Posting someone else's content without permission is against the rules.

I see what you think you are doing. You're splitting up pictures into multiple "strips" that you can then combine to create one large image. I'm assuming that you think by doing this that the individual "strips" can't be reported for adult content because each one of the 5 strips isn't an adult picture, even though when combined together they form an adult picture that most definitely would be reported for adult content on steam. I see you doing this on your profile too.

Unfortunately for you what you are doing is attempting to bypass or evade steam's content restrictions. That will not work for you. I'll go ahead and make it a point to spend time describing in detail what's going on in my report to the moderators where I go to report your profile in a little while. I sincerely hope they remove and ban most of your pictures for this. Trying to bypass the rules is not cool.

I also see that quite a lot of your submitted screenshot pictures most definitely are very much adult content that shouldn't be on steam. I have time tonight so I'll spend some time filing a report on as many of your adult screenshots as I can find.
