people who say games don't make you smarter makes me laugh tbh
we got puzzles games, multiplayer games and singleplayer games.

coop and multiplayer even comp games help with social skills and prediction with also the ability to adept fast in different environments.

puzzle games to help with memory and thinking to solve problems.

singleplayer games can range from learning to be efficient or relaxing to help will life so you can think more clearly if you are in a stress full state.

games have made me smart, it is more engaging and way better than sitting and turning my brain off watching anime or tv/movies.

like watching something is like looking at a script with visuals and books make you imagine thinks and learn new words but you still just looking at something and not actually controlling or being evolved in the content

like its really what games you play and how you choose to enjoy them tbh. you can play a boss game like dark souls and not learn anything and just push luck and then you got those people who learn the bosses and excel in timing and predictions which can help with a job in marketing knowing when to strike and want people would want aka selling ice cream on a hot day compared to winter.

there is so much to learn in gaming yet people want to choose game make people violent even tho idk what games can even make you violent? as long as you just enjoy it and not take it personally there is no issues and thats more of a irl thing than a game.

Is it weird that I learned geography from playing Hearts of Iron 4?

There was a Nintendo DS game that was popular for a minute, and its claim was that it could help memory and intelligence. This turned out to be false, and the conclusion was that there were no cognitive or skill improvements derived from playing the game other than getting better at playing that particular game.

Yeah, I remember that study. The game was Dr Kawashima's Brain Training, but other games and so called "brain training" websites were looked into too.

Afterwards Nintendo HQ were like, "we never said it could improve cognition"! lol.
