And of course the support doesn't work. Dead links! NEED HELP!
Wolf Knight Jun 29, 2024 @ 5:56am
your account is compromised
DO NOT TRADE
If you have access to the account

Steps to take NOW to secure the account:
1. Scan for malware https://www.malwarebytes.com/
2. Deauthorize all other devices https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
3. Change passwords from a clean computer
4. Generate new backup codes for your Mobile App https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
5. Revoke the API key https://steamcommunity.com/dev/apikey (there should be nothing in the APIKEY)
6. If points were stolen, do a password RESET to cancel the awards/points before they are delivered

Please review how you are logging into Steam, you somehow gave them your log in information. This could of been due to the computer being compromised and redirecting to a fake login, or you using a 3rd party site to login to steam.

your tickets are being closed by the scammer that has access to your account. secure it and you will be able to make tickets again. please report the accounts involved if possible

Thank You. Did all that (which I don't think is the problem. I have a good malware, strong pass, 2FA, Cellphone authenticator). Now, I want my items back. I know 80% of them are being held by suspicious activity. But Steam Support goes nowhere.

Should I sell all my items before getting scammed again? (Is this a way of activating the market?)

You won't get your items back:

https://help.steampowered.com/faqs/view/3B6E-B322-2400-8D24

You got scammed because your login data were somehow leaked - you need to search where&how.

  • Have you talked to an "admin" after being "accidentally reported"?
  • Does someone else use your PC or your account?

But NOBODY can't login without my cellphone approval, so it's impossible that my access was compromised.
I know I lost the items that I already got the money. But there are still around 40 pending. I want those back!

If your offers are still visible here:
https://steamcommunity.com/market/
Then simply cancel them, if not you no longer can cancel that transaction(s) and your only option is to rebuy.

Regarding "nobody"
https://help.steampowered.com/en/faqs/view/06B0-26E6-2CF8-254C#stolen

As you notice, even Valve admits the possibility that Steam Guard will be bypassed and details the most common ways scammers do it. Also they openly admit that Guard is merely an extra layer.

I can no longer cancel transaction. And now that you mention, Items were automatically put out for sale and bought with no time for me to cancel. I was able to see LIVE how I was being robbed.

I guess I'll be uninstalling DOTA and selling everything before I get magically robbed again.
A no-brainer Jun 29, 2024 @ 7:19am

Also you might want to add Family View. The pin adds another layer of security because it blocks all community features including the market. They steal wallet funds too, so spent them immediately on games.

If you don't mind putting in username and password you can also deactivate automated login on all devices for extra security.

Try to find out how they managed to get your info so you can be sure it is not going to happen ever again. Warn your friends. Chances are whatever you did to compromise your account, they did too (brainstorming together might also lead to finding out what that was) and this might help to prevent them to get robbed at least.

Sorry this happened to you. I fully understand the anger and frustration.

I assume with on hold you mean the Money that is put on hold when ♥♥♥♥ is being sold. Ironically enough it is extremely scummy from Valve to not kick in before that ♥♥♥♥ goes buckwild, and allows bots to just sell of your entire Inventory.
It happened to me aswell, in one hour, over 40k items from my inventory were sold off to the best offer while i was on Vacation, even though most of the money was held for suspicious Activity, the biggest damage was ~20 years of collected Steam Inventory Items gone with the blink of an Eye.
Not sure why Valve allows the selling of 40k Items in a inhumane Timeframe, but then holds the Money, might aswell add a Lock for suddenly emptying an entire Inventory.

And no, theres no Way to cancel this, the Items are gone, the best youll get out of this ig is that you can use the Money that is on Hold now in the Sale once the Hold is removed.

There is no magic. You lost all your items because of ''magic'', there is no gift skins, nobody wants you in their tournament.
if you follow information people already commented, you will be fine.

If you need extra help, add me, type your teamviewer information, i can check your pc.

I did not. If I want to sell my items right Now, I have to access my cellphone and approve. But when this happened it wasnt necessary. And all transactions were approved without hesitation

Exactly what happened here. In seconds 43 items sold. Today I want to sell something and I have to approve it on my cellphone, wait hours, etc etc. The logic is insane.

Knowing this, I Will no longer have valuable items. Just buying games.

Thanks for sharing your case.

That's because you gave away everything the thief needs to steal your things, the steam guard is useless for your situation.

Your info was phished somehow either by you signing into a 3rd party website with your steam login details or by a malware infection on your PC.
