i literally reported a post and got banned for it when the mods have made posts stating editing qoutes to put words in peoples mouths is a bannable offense. a ban btw that shouldnt have happened took around 24 hours to appeal and was used as "a history of bans". they have all of the issues literally every company who does this chat ban garbage has because the mods dont pay attention the majoirty of the time because of rampant false flagging.
also most people dont use the forums in the first place so most people wont have content that needs moderation in the first place. thats one of those talking points that doesnt mean what you think it means.
if steam wants to be taken seriously then they have to penalize the flase flaggers ignoring the block function.
the biggest problem blizzard had thanks to the chat ban bot they use is no one who cares can ever say anything because trolls are just chomping at the bit to report people after literally causing problems in ranked aka the try hard mode where people are literally expected to be putting in effort. from what ive seen every company who does this chat ban garbage has the same model for it that is a proven failure killing companies. there is never a white list context is utterly ignored and its always the people causing the most actual problems who just love the reports for chats. chat that only happened because they are literally sabotaging the game. if they can be that bad game they have no reason to be different in the forums.
anyone who knows the history of this garbage knows its started when riot games sold to tencent and they took tribunal down for the ban bot. rioit lyte funny enough was sleeping with his coworkers and shock gasp suprise a few years later they get sued for sexual harassment. riot lyte at the time was the poster boy for player behaviour who was just another power tripping creep who liked censoring people. its been proven to be just like that ever since.
so yes. yes it does quite a lot to make threads. the more people know the more likely abuse is to stop.
People? What people are you referring to? Please point out where any one of us can do anything about it?
Literally 3 posts in a row.
This is spamming.
for the helldivers side of this just give up. its a no win. the companies have to magically be reasonable about it for things to change. if they actually have threads saying what you said they did still then not only am i not suprised because its just how sick of that crowd people are but its literally up to the helldivers devs. the most you can do is document it and make your voice heard and hope for the best since ip laws and tos and other bs makes it the only thing you can do.
Did you not see the moderator's response? This is not the place to complain about moderation because no one here can do anything about it.
Threads complaining about moderation are spam because no one can do anything about it because as I've told you numerous times, this is a user forum and it is entirely user-based. There is a reason why you are told to contact Steam Support.
I mean that's pretty straightforward? I'm not sure why I have to explain it further.
You've come here to spam and troll and that's fine. But don't expect a dissertation on the reasons that users can post in forums for users to discuss forums where users are posting to forums. It's pretty circular.
As for steam support, when you contact them, you get a link to the page about steam forums and it sends you to the community forums (here). I did not go out of my way to "discover" this "hidden" forum - you are linked to it.
Me repeating myself because you're not understanding isn't spamming, also the fact that I don't agree with you, isn't trolling.
If you believe this ban was issued by mistake, please contact Steam Support.
The words Steam Support in that sentence is a hyperlink that you can click on to contact Steam support. I don't know what you think you're talking about when you say the forums are meant to discuss ban issues. They aren't.
That sentence is also attached to every ban message you get. So no, you were not sent here.
I'm out.
That's not what this thread is for.
The whole thing was about how weird and bad the HD2 forum moderators have been acting and how bad those forums were. Someone stepped in to clean it up (based on what I said earlier).
Off-topic, wrong topic, trying to coerce the conversation to a tangential topic, ... this was just not useful.
Triple posting, at best, is just bad etiquette if not spamming. There's an edit button. If you have some random thought later you can just edit the thing.
Please leave. Derailing the thread wasn't great.
This is not your thread. The instant you created it. It was public.
Remember when a moderator locks this thread and gives you the same message that I told you would be given.
Your thread is discussing your ban, or trying to dispute it.
EDIT
You would also do well to realize that developers can moderate their own forums or have Valve do it for them. If it's the latter, you were banned by a member of Steam Support. Which throws your whole argument out the window because you were not banned by game hub moderators but by Valve employees.
No one is saying the reason that you're wildly off-topic has anything to do with not agreeing with me.
This can't be true because the ban no longer exists.
You've lost the plot. You said you were leaving - please do.
Yeah the forum over there is a lot better since I first opened this. It's pretty on-par with other forums now.
As for the confusion around an "argument" that never existed - yeah I don't mind if you chatter about that. It's not real.
