many times, what you are posting is not the issue, its how you are posting it.
In other words someone or something was renting space in your head at the time and you got yourself into trouble by assuming someone else was not being nice.
Check. You got what you deserved.
I wouldn't jump to the conclusion that everyone on the internet is never concerned for you. Oh no. I am constantly suggesting that some people need to visit their local friendly neighborhood therapist. Behavior like yours for example.
As you say ... it is the internet. That should be an immediate notice to yourself that you shouldn't be taking most things all that seriously.
Yes I am here
1. Don't engage
2. Block
3. Report
4. Move on
damn right i did, fell for troll bait, hook, line, and sinker. If i was in a calmer state of mind I would of replied less rudely and attempt to bait them into making a fool of themselves as i like to "troll the trolls" from time to time.
Well if you play with fire, eventually you're gonna get burned. Crying about it and shifting the blame might soothe your ego, but the rest of us users aren't so gullible as to just accept your self-serving narrative. And chances are your antics aren't so clever moderators are oblivious to them.
End of the day, don't break the rules and you won't get moderated.
You broke the rules. Your admit it in your post. But for some reason you don't think it should count. Well that's the story in your head, it's not reality.
The best advice to give regarding trolls. I started to follow this advice myself.
Engagement is what trolls and toxic users aim to. So not engaging them is the best course of action. Otherwise you risk being caught in the crossfire.
edit in obviously hateful comments are like spamming the n word. there is just no reason for it. most of what is banned is saying an opinion is thoughtless and the s or i word and then listing a dozen reasons why and its because context isnt factored anymore. the s and i word is establishing you clearly disagree but children cant handle disagreements anymore. using them gets you banned though because childish people will be childish and mods love to be used and abused i guess. its why context matters. it makes it super obvious by the 20th report the reports are just false flagging over a disagreement and the block function should be used not the report function.
the ability to disagree is literally the corner stone of civil society.
