Finding Gift Cards
Something I have noticed in my area, not sure if it is happening all over or not. Some of the places listed on the site where you can buy Steam Cards do not have them at all anymore and no one in the store has no idea why. At the Tom Thumb I shop the only answer I got was because the numbers would not ring up at the register and that was a few months ago, I have lost track. I'm passing this on so people can be aware. I have no idea where else this may come up or if Valve is even aware it is happening.

Some stores just stopped carrying them, some are waiting for the newer designed cards and others moved their Steam cards to a different area.

Ok, It just amazes me how clueless some staff members can be, but then I forget management forgets to tell them these things sometimes. Thank you for your information

Some shops may sell digital versions of those gift cards on their websites.
Buying those will have the code emailed to you.

Some managers don't even know what their department heads are doing.

CoinStar also has them.

You got that right, sometimes I wonder if corporate even knows what they're doing

The Corporate office nevers truly knows how to run their stores as they are too busy looking at numbers on a screen and not interacting with the customers.
Numbers on a screen tells them one thing, but if they worked in the store they would see something different.

What I always thought when I worked security in those places, they suffered from what I call H.U.T.A syndrome (Head Up The Ass), forgive my wording if offended. Production was much easier to deal with. I just wish more people actually had brains in this world it would be better, the true ones (like the one I'm speaking with now), are hard to find anymore.

Do you have a Wal-mart?

Yes, I'm going to check there again. That's where else I've found them.

No starbuck, you aren't crazy. That was the problem I had with Tom Thumb in my area. The some cards just flat wouldn't read. So to find them I have to go to stores (if I'm lucky enough), that have them until the new ones come out. I know several that have them, and with luck they will work. For me (not being able to drive makes it a challenge), but I'm not complaining, I'll figure it out. I have to be careful about online shopping as I have to keep a budget and might overdo if I do try that. Why I get a certain amount of gift cards and then stop for a bit and go back again and get more. I set a budget for them and then go on. This day and age you have to budget your money or the people that want your money win. Being the son of someone that was in the money game I learned a few things, but am definitely no expert by any means (especially not to teach anyone).

If you have a Dollar General in your area check there as well.

Be sure to check the PC/Gaming section at Walmart since around here they removed them from the gift card section. AFAIK I was the first one on here to give this info to others.

I'll do that, thanks. In my area, some of the Dollar Generals are closing up so it's not going to be easy. But I'll look if I can, thanks for the help.
