Fallout-like games?
I'm just asking out of curiousity here and the question is. Is there any worthwhile fallout-like games that takes place in other countries than the usuall ones. For example north america and russia.

In north america you got games like Fallout and russia Metro. Those two are pretty much the same considering they both take place after a massive nuclear war.

I personally think it would be really intresting to see a new setting for a fallout-like game, maybe in asia or europe.

I just love Fallout and Metro and i would thrilled if there would be a similar game in new locations on earth.

Wasteland... if that series is on Steam

Could be called Fallout's granddaddy

I don't remember ever playing a game like Fallout before. Wasteland is probably going to be it although I've never played it: it was certainly just a poor man Fallout. It was made by the creators or Fallout who had decided to continue in that direction once the rights to the original IP were bought out. I don't recall the exact details.

What is important to realise here is that what make Fallout unique is not the post apocalyptic setting. Man are there a lot of those games... What make Fallout unique is two fold: its take on greedy corporations which ultimately become the downfall of humanity and the fact that transistors were never invented in that reality and that everything still work on vacuum tubes and the like since then. Because of this miniaturisation never happened like in real life and society(ies) was stuck in the '60-'70 mentality pretty much forever.

All of this make me believe that OP don't really know the setting of Fallout as much as he would like and that he's not really looking for Fallout-like games. He's more likely looking for post apocalyptic 3D shooters since he mention Metro (which has absolutely nothing to do with Fallout in any kind of way or form except for the fact they are both post-apocalyptic...).

Yes you're right, poor choice of word on my part going with fallout-like. In my mind i thought Fallout would best describe my vision because of it's open world setting and that it takes place after a nuclear war. I never really reflected on what makes Fallout unique.

I suppose a better way to describe what i'm looking is a mix of Fallout and Metro or leaning more to one game or the other. Maybe neither of those games either necessarily. Just that the core of the game would be that it takes place during, after or/and near nuclear war, and that the game is in a location on earth that hasn't really been used that much or not at all in this specific setting which would be nuclear war.

I mean in theory, Frostpunk is Fallout-style based, granted in that Earth's case, the 3 largest super volcanos erupted, a micro-ice age started up and the sun itself dimmed giving way to a more frosty fallout situation

Wasteland came first and was one of the original inspirations for the Fallout series.

There might have been an ever older one but I was referring to the newer, 3D one.
