Steam Moderators Are Bias
And I don't even know if anything can be done about it, other than the whole matter being swept under the rug.

I was in another community, and started a discussion I remained civil and one user repeatedly insulted me within said forum. I fire back one insult and end up being banned from the community 24hours.

Now I am sure some might think there must be more to this story, but there isn't. I wasn't trolling, I had a reasonable inquiry involving the game, but I was attacked and disrespected and I get a ban for being disrespectful for one profane message back towards them when they use multiple.

I went through the ticket booth. I basically told moderation I didn't care if my ban was removed, I wanted accountability towards the user that harassed and insulted me. They said they would look into it, but nothing.

I sent quotes and quick links in the ticket and you know what they did? They just deleted the forum/chat and then closed the ticket.

All I wanted was accountability, for the user to also be banned from that forum for their disrespectful behavior, but they are still allowed to chat freely within it when no action was taken. I just find it funny how Steam mods waste no time in delivering a 24 hour ban on my end, but give the instigator a slap on the wrist or nothing at all.

This type of favoritism needs to stop. If a user starts a fight, it shouldn't be right for the one they started the fight with to be banned in response. If there are going to be bans, it should be done to both problem users.

I don't even know if anything can be done at this point. Like, seriously what is my approach? Just let the matter go and take it after being verbally abused by a member and then banned when that member isn't punished? When the discussion is covered up and deleted as well?

Like where do I even go from here? Do I open another ticket? Do I contact admins directly? Or just let it go cause Steam Moderation is bias and doesn't treat members equally for their behavior?

And every accusation you make is a confession. How often are you posting on the forums?

Not near as much as you.

Anyhow, i posted the numbers and my argument correct, again.

It should be no surprise though. I think it's common sense mass shootings are WAY up as compared to the prior social media age.

And so you can dwell on that, and figure out, what has gone wrong over the course of that time. I'll be watching the comments.
You've been posting a lot more recently than I have, I've got better things to do with my retirement.

Its obviously ACTUALLY Apples fault since the real uptick happened after the first iphone release

And literally nothing else has changed in the world except that.

Also it's only a trend in the US because they buy more iphones

Dude, you're so terminally online that it's hilarious to see that you're partaking of the same thing you're citing as "the problem".

Way to waste a retirement.

Not the insults. If others replied to *certain* users here, the way you're replying to xBCx, they'd get a community ban lmao

True. But that goes to the point of the thread. Where is the moderation of bad actors, as compared to someone who "reacts" to the bad actors?

As was said, i am retired, and i can be bullied, and it's the gamers. Big deal.

But for kids, it's a total different situation, and these folks, many of them should have been gone long ago.

But again, these companies have to learn how moderate THEIR property, and given it's their property, should be sued for what happens on their property. Alex Jones got sued, but Google did not. That has to change.

I mean, I was literally told that my source was read.

Then told that all it contained was stuff like robberies gone wrong.

So it looks like that's an accurate sentiment.

It was wrong. My contention is that we're dealing with a mass shooting pandemic. I posted, by your own link, the numbers today in the social media age, as compared to then. And you were wrong. Which is no surprise btw lol.
Except we aren't.

As I stated before, there is no hard definition for 'mass shooting'. There isn't a huge jump in mass shootings, especially not near the levels to call it a pandemic.

Also, you've literally sourced nothing with your claims. Just stated it's "common sense" and alluded to numbers which you never show.

The "social media age" also didn't start in 2000. It's started around the 2010s.

21. out of 25 years

So basically over the same period of time, the same number.

Must really sting to be that wrong eh?

Wrong again. Your easy.

Alex Jones got sued by the families. Google followed the law that they are required when it came to him.

What you are wanting is literally for these giant corporations to control the Internet and it's flow of information out of fear of being hammered with civil lawsuits. All because a refund was denied.

There have bee 394 school shootings, alone, since Columbine sir. I would stop posting misinformation, being that's another matter they should come down on. Fake news provocoteurs.

Nah, Steam Mods go after people they view as new and not influential enough to get them in trouble. You know, someone like me.

Exactly why I pointed it out! You've got quite a few people hurling insults at you and derailing the topic, but they do it nonstop on this forum and Steam Mods won't touch it. Yet if you dish it back, banned within two hours.

The US Government already is aware of Steams horrible moderation and the effects that has on the population that uses it, which I'm sure Steam lobbies to give this platform some wiggle room. Eventually though, Steam is going to get rammed for how they Moderate their site, it's just a matter of time.

Funny how you are suddenly moving that goal post from mass shootings to ANY school shootings. 394 shootings includes those "1 student shot 1 teacher"

But hey its fun to skew the numbers when it suites the narrative you want

Oh, I'm familiar with that list.

A list that also classifies as 'school shooting' as any shooting that takes place on school property regardless of student presence. This is a problem in high gang areas since it counts any shooting they commit towards each other as a school shooting if it happens on school property.

But please, show your source.

The slander and harm to those families, were posted on YT. That is owned by Google.

Which is to say, the assault by Mr Jones on those families, happened on THEIR property. Therefore, THEY should be held liable as well.

Like you tell us this is Mr Newells property, anything that happens here, including thieving developers, should be on HIM and Valve, as well.

Yeah they are, you're right. I posted links to that effect. And correspondence directed to Mr Newell, himself by the US Senate.
