Steam community rules needs a rework and better moderation

Steam really needs to rework their community rules, I got a week ban for expressing an opinion followed by a joke, I believe it wasn't a big deal or "inflammatory" at all and instead of banning people that directly insulted me and harrassed me, I was the one banned.

I really think people should be banned accordingly to the severity of their posts. It is obvious that thats the effective way of preserving a healthy community.

Right now I still see posts of a guy telling me I have lack of cognitive and social skills which I've been banned for before and he still has the post online for people to read without any punishment. Funny enough, another guy that called me autistic and insulted me several times in following posts wasn't banned for that, he was banned for something else after 2 days which is a mockery to me.

It is a desgrace how inconsistent steam community moderation rules are applied.

Im pretty sure I can sue steam for such negligence.

Rules of steam community are beyond lackluster.

If you hate 'unfair' things then why are you complaining. Your ban was 100% fair. Your behavior has consequences. That's the literal definition of fair. You are not complaining about things being 'unfair' you literally want the rules to be unfair IN YOUR FAVOR.

Paying taxes has zero to do with a private entity having the ability to set rules/boundaries on their property.

Before you try to cite First Amendment/Freedom of Speech, I suggest you look the wordage of said amendment up.

Its just kinda funny how people still trying to judge but keep missing the point.

I got banned for a week for this reason:
"This post contains content that is inflammatory and likely to create arguments and other non-constructive replies. This type of content is not allowed on the Steam Community. "

Also this, is 90% of this great forum. I cant make it simpler. Thanks for your attention.

as for why

here the reason(s)

1) he is extremely highly insulting and very rude

2) calling everyone names

none of them are "joking" posts at all.

Ah! yes the age old "my replies were not toxic" only the other posters were toxic, yet the proof is in the reading of your replies which cannot be described as polite, after all it is not what you say but HOW you say it which determines if you get a warning or a ban, hence why the reason given was:

"This post contains content that is inflammatory and likely to create arguments and other non-constructive replies. This type of content is not allowed on the Steam Community. "

Have you tried being less toxic? Maybe take your ban like a man and learn from it, instead of running to other steam forums looking for attention?

I mean the overwhelming majority of users seem to be able to understand the rules just fine, 95% of them boil down to don't be a jerk

No they don't, they are just oblivious to how bad the moderation is.
"Don't be a jerk" is very vague. What that means depends on who you ask. It is also up to interpretation.

How do you know that? Have you asked this majority? Don't think so. It depends on a lot of things, which hub you are in, if people report you or not, etcetera. We can't know anything for sure though because it is apparently a great mystery, they are very very secretive about everything. Which is already not a good look, especially because of the reason I mentioned in my first comment above.
