I haven't played the above games through, just the intros for the most part, but they all seem good and fit.

Diablo. It's drowning in atmosphere, especially for a 25+ year old game using 2.5D graphics.

Amnesia: The Dark Descent. Despite its age, I still think the game holds up and the atmosphere is just incredible. I haven't played many horror games, but I consider this one to be among the scariest.
