Where's the line?
I had my profile pic yanked again this past week.

I have defended the image once before and the appeal overturned the unjust removal. I continued to use the image for the last few years (since pre-Covid) without issue. This time my appeal is denied without explanation. This action also barred me from changing my profile for a week. Am I accumulating strikes against my account over this? I would like to know. What is far more irritating is the lack of answers I get from Steam as to where the actual line is. You encourage Steam users to be self-expressive, but when I am, your ambiguous guidelines land me in hot water. Repeatedly pointing to your guidelines and saying "well, we were offended" does not provide me explanation.

I would appreciate it if someone from Steam read my closed tickets and gave me an unbiased answer. So far, I have received "copypasta" from someone who seemed irritated to do their job. I wasn't trolling when I asked if it was fine for me to use a different iteration of the same image doctored in Photoshop to be (I'd imagine) "less offensive", then attached and sent back in the ticket. I was told further tickets would be ignored about the issue so I am making this post.

In addition to my inquiry, I played another Counter-Strike 2 comp match last night where I was called homophobic and racial slurs by the same exact players I reported over a week ago (for the very same slurs). I provided explanation in the report and offered screenshots. I didn't hear back about any of that. So my current takeaway is that humorous imagery of an overweight man in lingerie (no nudity or sexual acts depicted) playing an outdated V.R system is unacceptable yet racism is? I suggest you start handing out bans for this constant barrage of classless bigotry in your online games and clean this cesspool of a community up a little bit. (In Counter-Strike 2 we all click the same green button agreeing to guidelines before comp matches but it seems you don't enforce them)

In 19 years of owning this Steam account, I've only had two issues with Steam moderators. Both have been this image and it does not depict anything graphic or sexual in nature. I feel like we're avoiding real issues and attacking nonsense here. AITA?

The boilerplate you received is the answer.

I experienced it firsthand when I sent a ticket to support a week ago.

I won't mention the specific issue because it's unrelated, but I'll just say that I asked them, "1+1=?" and they responded with "3+4=7."

Thanks to a thread from a frustrated poster who was upset with support for not reading their ticket and instead sending a copy-pasted answer, similar to what you mentioned above, I realize it.

Every manual ticket is indeed read by a real human. If the answer is not what you are looking for, no matter how odd/seemingly unrelated reply you get, it is their way of saying 'no.' :eatyourbroccoli:

Yes, I must agree. By the way, the game Cow Girls has various animated backgrounds of adult women too.

He has no profile picture right now, and there is no way you reported his other profile picture, because no matter what it was, no one admits that. LOL.

Seriously, what was the avatar that got banned?
I should of taken a screenshot. It was a naked overweight person sitting in a chair with nothing on but a red sash that said "STEAM" on it.

Clearly NOT naked, as there is NO NUDITY in the image. You have a false sense of righteousness here, and seem incapable of removing your feelings from the scenario. I've already stated the facts. You hijacking the thread to spread false information and promote a keylogging link does not help anyone.

It seems wild for you to brush over the racism entirely but I guess that's something you aren't offended by or have to deal with.

I would not have to know of your existence were it not for this thread and you wouldn't know of mine. I suggest you move on, and avoid the beach, swimming pools and water parks since everyone there must be "completely naked" to you. :steamfacepalm:
Steamid uk is a valid link though.
IT's not trying to keylog.
It's the same as SteamId as a whole.

Sorry you got harassed by that person.
Don't know why he came here to go after you.
It's weird.

So about that. This is what you had as a steam profile image before, we can verify it on SteamID: https://i.imgur.com/oITq8gV.png

I just enlarged the browser to 500% and took a screenshot.

It's not false information. SteamID archived your steam profile before it was reported. You had that image for your profile. Apparently the moderators agreed with me that it has no place on steam as a profile image. It's also not a keylogger. Websites can not log our keystrokes that we type into them unless they have us download a program to install and run on our computer. The SteamID website does not offer any files for download at all. It can't possibly be a keylogger as you claimed. It's literally impossible.

What racism? Please link to the exact message where I wrote anything racist in this thread.

Targeted insults are not going to go well for you after what you just went through with your profile image.

Again, clearly not targeted but you can't seem to resist chiming in where you aren't needed/wanted.

I encourage you to improve upon on your reading comprehension.

You are not separating your feelings from fact.

I'm not going to click on your suspicious links and I highly suggest nobody else does either.

Please go away. I've already blocked you on Steam. Stop harassing me.

Agreed. I find it deeply disturbing someone would take harassment to this level.
That's a imgur link though.
It also leads to a 404. Not found.
So, whatever he was linking, it was deleted somehow.

That being said, it's quite weird he would go and start a war over your avatar.

You quoted me directly when you wrote insults above. That is the definition of "targeted insults"

You're right. I'm not. And I don't have to if I don't want to. I can write comments in the steam forums about my thoughts, opinions, and feelings if I want to and you can't stop me.

Origineel geplaatst door B0SR0K:

It's not suspicious. The SteamID website has been around since 2003. It's called public information. They archive all steam profiles on a regular schedule. Anything you put on your profile is public information. Your steam profile can and will be archived by any website anywhere on the internet.

I'm not harassing you. You wrote a comment in a public thread in a public place on the steam forums. This means I am free to comment anything I want to into this thread or any other thread as long as I follow steam's forum rules. So far I have complied with all rules.

EDIT: Also now that I know you have a history of posting offensive images as your steam profile image I have decided to keep your steam profile in a tab in my browser and check it once a day every day when I wake up and load my tabs again just so if you post anything else offensive I can make sure to get it reported ASAP. That's not harassing you either btw: Your steam profile is public information. Anyone can see it and report it.

That's something to do with steam's link filtering. If you copy-paste the URL as text into the address bar it loads fine but if we click on it to click-through from steam it doesn't load.

They're a private Level 0 burner account likely used as a means to harass other users.

For the 3rd time: No one is harassing you. If you don't like people responding to your thread or your comments then maybe you might want to avoid writing threads and comments in a public place like the steam forums. If you didn't create this thread or use the forums then no one would of ever found your profile and it wouldn't of been reported.

You're the one that put an offensive image on your steam profile then created a forum thread encouraging everyone in the steam forums to see your profile. What did you think would happen? You have no one to blame for this situation except yourself.

It's against the rules to say you'l targeted harass people.
And no, he doesn't have a history.

You're just making up stuff about him now.
Also, unlikely that picture you showed is actually his avatar.
Lol.

No one picks a fat guy nakedish in a chair like that as an avatar.
OP, did you ever choose a weird fat guy as an avatar?
Because that would be strange.

He only made this thread because his AVATAR got removed.
You can't claim he made this thread before his avatar got removed.
LOL

You must be joking.

Also, the avatar you linked is not even offensive.
It's disturbing. But that's it. :P
