Valve needs to start vetting AAA Games (The Day Before)
For those not familiar, The Day Before was complete lie, as it was marketed as an MMO and turns out it wasn't. The developer (Fntastic) just announced company is being shut down.
Anyone who hasn't received a refund is not eligible now (Fortunately I got refund)..but many customers are SOL....
Valve needs to start vetting games before allowing companies to sell their products on Steam.

Suggestion:
Any games price-pointed 39.99 or higher need to grant Valve access to play the game before early release / release to ensure the tags/category are accurate to what company is showcasing it as. At very least, they should require this type of QC for anything categorized as an MMO. Yes, MMO can be a little subjective, but Day Before has illustrated there is a fine in the sand on what an MMO actually is at the BARE MINIMUM.

This is not Valve's fault at all.... However, some people will blame Valve for not adopting some sort of vetting process... because they allowed a POS game like this to be sold on their platform.

And you NEED to use the forum search.
Except that this would have happened even if it wasn't an Early Access game.
It's not valves fault and people venting at them, yet you come here expecting valve to do something about it... as if you blamed them for something... as if you expected them to do something because this fntastic failure failed to meet any expectations.

(pun intended)
Didn't we just have a thread about this same topic yesterday?

Valve has made an explicit decision to NOT curate the store. Get used to making your own decisions, since Valve isn't going to do that for you anytime soon.
You supposed Fntastic was a AAA studio?!
It wasn't an AAA game. It would have happened anyway, people put way too much emphasis on the label attached. They'd have simply released it as "finished" game if Early Access was not available.

Also, everybody is getting refunds. Please keep up.
The only people that need to vet such games are the consumers. It defies utter belief that with all the evidence of lies, deception, plagiarism and legality spanning nearly 3 years, the game still sold over 200,000 copies and that's not taking into account Fntastic's miserable track record.

I get that a portion bought out of curiosity but it's actually insane to think others bought it because they believed it was a credible project.
Hype is one hell of a drug
Vetting is all fun and games until a game you like gets the veto.

I wish Steam would curate games again, get rid of troll awards (IMO it doesn't foster anything positive), bring back the Friends list on double click functionality it used to have, and not ignore user feedback. HOWEVER. It's pretty clear they're going to do whatever they like and there's nothing we can do about it.

I think they just felt pressured to release the game as it was and it's a pretty okay game if it had more time to cook. I also heard a good take that they were probably running out of money and had to release it as it was, but it could of been better given time.

Also The Day Before is nothing compared to the almighty ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Gate 3 that took three more years to fully release, so people like me who bought it on launch didn't even have a quarter of a game and Cyberpunk 2077, CD literally lied and people couldn't play it on older consoles. On top of being a complete mess, now look at those games given some support.

BG3 was finished and they literally said that only the first chapter was available in EA.
