Why does steam start with friends offline all the time?

All of a sudden every time I start steam friends is set as offline.

Click on "Steam" in top left corner, then "settings" and then the "friends & chat" tab.
In there search for "Sign in to friends when Steam Client Starts" (or something like that, my Steam is not in english) and make sure it's enabled.

Thanks I is enabled. I think it might be because family view is enabled.

Correct. Many, many issues due to Valve doing something that screwed up Family View over a month ago.
