It's a scam!

Any claim that you've been accidentally or falsely reported for fraud or any other infraction is a scam. Do not follow any instructions provided by anyone claiming to have accidentally reported your account.

Valve Employees will never ask you for personal or account information, on Steam or anywhere else. You can safely ignore anyone who claims to have mistakenly reported you - that will not get you banned. If you need help with your Steam account, go to https://help.steampowered.com/ .

Report and block all accounts involved in the scam.


If your account has already been compromised:

Do not trade until your account is secured.

Take the following steps to secure your account:

1. Scan for malware. https://www.malwarebytes.com/
2. Check that the email and phone number on the Steam account are still yours.
3. Deauthorize all other devices. https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
4. Change passwords from a clean computer.
5. Generate new backup codes for your Mobile App. https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
6. Revoke the API key (there should be no key). https://steamcommunity.com/dev/apikey

They can't really do anything with that link.

If anyone on Steam or elsewhere says anything about your Steam account or mentions reports, it is a scam. They should be blocked and reported immediately.

The only entity that will ever have anything to do with your account is Steam Support and they will only contact you through Support tickets or alerts which are fixed to your account.
