Finding and importing a cd key
Say you buy diablo4 on blizzard net and now it's offered thru steam store, does that mean I can take my cdkey from blizzard net a day import it into steam so I can launch it from steam properly on my deck? And if so where do I pull the cdkey from?

If you want to play the game as an owned game on Steam, you have to purchase it on Steam.

Otherwise, you add the Battle.net launcher as a non-Steam game.

Only when the CD key includes Steam code on the Disc.
I bought Elder Scrolls V Skyrim back in its day from Blizzard and on the CD case is a Key for Steam. It registered it to Steam and added it to Steam lbrary.

When was Skyrim a Blizzard game?

You mean Bethesda, don't you?

No.
You would need to buy the version sold in the Steam store.
You would still need a battlenet account so you might be able to link the account.
Buying the Blizzard version doesn't entitle you to a Steam version, and it works the same way in reverse, a Steam version doesn't entitle you to a Blizzard version.
