Is There Such a Thing as Shadow Banning on Here?
Posting this to see if there is some occurrence where posts are not visible because some form or another...

Other people can view what you post on the internet, if that is what you are asking.

If nobody responded to a post, it was probably a very wholesome post, but people would still be able to view it.
If you visit a Steam website and post something on it, everyone can view the same website as you do. You don't get a personalized version of the website that only you yourself or a select few can view, because its not required to log-in in order to view the website.

Simply put: You could log-out, and use any random computer that is connected to the internet, and view the post on it. (Unless it was posted in a private group.)

These were extremely fast responses compared to a few others i made elsewhere. They weren't getting any responses so i thought maybe something was wrong.

There's no shadow banning per se, but the Valvists of around 15 regulars posting here will have us banned or our posts and threads deleted.

Well, in that case your existance has been validated.

Dont worry, you manage to do that quiet well on your own.

There is no shadowban as far I know

If your posts or threads aren't getting enough answers, maybe you're blocked by people or perhaps the post is not on topic... who knows, steam forums are a strange place sometimes.

:deeperwrench: Isn’t it implicit to a shadow ban that it’s not readily detectable?
HikariLight Nov 10, 2023 @ 1:41pm
There are no shadow bans.
Regardless of what some users may try to tell you, they do not exist on Steam.
It is either you are banned or you are not.
And you will know if your banned as you will have red text on your profile page saying such.

Were the forums you posted in active?

Just because they exist doesn't mean anybody's posting in them, especially for older games. Even newer game forums can die after the first few months, only seeing activity when a sale comes along and boosts new players.

You mean the countless Threads in which you blatantly break the rules and then cry about being punished? Yeah, funny how that works.

Ironic post.

I actually dont, the last time I got banned was months ago, which was for a single day and even this Ban got removed by Support in a few hours as it was incorrect.

But imagine as you will.

And even if the topic isn't about you, people like you (yes, there's a couple that, for some reason, lack any self reflection and blame anyone but themselves for their actions and the consequences) are a good example for "Shadow Bans" not being a thing, but rather the Bans being very clear.

The point was aptly made in regards to your conduct here, are again totally off topic with redundant posts, and likely to derail the thread in comments about other posters.

I will delete these off topic posts, as to not bore others of the topic at hand you have caused..

Mods can read your deleted posts, so if they were reported it would not matter in the slightest.
That said, to keep the Thread less confusing I will remove mine as well.

As for OP: Shadow Banning is not a thing. Certain users, like the one I mentioned before, like to dish out conspiracy theories as they cannot accept being in the wrong, but that should not be taken seriously.

Never believe anyone if they say there is a group of elite users who try to ban people for Valve. :P
That's just silly.

IF anything it would make more sense if Gabe Newel announced he was a time traveler and also my son. :P
