The letter k 3x is automatically blocked. It was added to the filter ages ago on all Valve channels on YouTube.
It is still happening btw. I'm aware latin americans also have a tendency to type in all caps which is the norm so I can see that also getting in the filters... however I see several comments in all caps in English and they are never deleted.
I am genuinely curious why is it targeting comments in Spanish lol
It isnt "racism" as a myriad of different people speak Spanish, including white Europeans and Indigenous descended South Americans. "Spanish Speakers" is not a race.
As for what it is, I dont care. I might even be so bold as to suggest theres more to the story, like a handful of Spanish speakers spamming the chat..."in all caps" no less.
But sure, its really easy to attribute the absolute worst kind of malice with no proof and incorrect terms.
If you never cared why are you even here? To show everyone how knowledgeable you are for reading a wikipedia article about SA?
If you want to see "more to the story" go to the youtube chat yourself. People spamming in caps that isn't spanish are not really getting deleted. Again, see the context yourself in the stream instead of assuming stupid things.
Assuming stupid things?
Like racism...right?
Often times this is in place on such streams or in game chat on English servers to make sure moderators know what's being said and everyone needs to follow the same rules then,
Ok, Ill address something else. You called "racism" and your proof is "Spanish language comments are being deleted". As pointed out, there is a wide array of ethnic makeups and countries that speak Spanish across at least 3 continents. So you invoked "racism" based on NOTHING.
You know you effed up, right? And now you just want to keep arguing.
Not to mention the fact that you come here, to the Steam general forms not even the game about a GD You Tube stream. Brilliant! Tactical genius.
Although it's a really dumb counter measure for an INTERNATIONAL tournament. How lazy can they be it's not hard to get 2-3 more chat mods that will essentially cover all regions.
I also saw people posting a flag of Israel or Palestine and they got deleted, but if you spammed a wall full of lgbtq pride flags it was overlooked. I guess the ones in charge the youtube stream just don't give a damn. Sucks.
Thanks for the reply, it is likely the reason why it's happening.
If you wish to speak in another language you will need to find a stream meant for that language and just because it's a international tournament does not mean much as each stream will have their own rules as that's always the case for whoever is hosting it.
As for the flag issue one is a political flag and often is not something allowed in streamers chats for obvious reasons while the other is a flag for equal rights and usually accepted by the majority of people as discrimination is not something people want to promote.
If you have issues with either you need to do your own stream instead and run it as you see fit as long as you are not breaking any rules the site uses.
Yes I understand that, I just saw 1 single flag of the country and got deleted but the other flag was covering chunks of the chat and not being removed for spam. Sorry I didn't mean that in a bad way.
Again thank you
Especially when the language chosen is English, which is used by many people all across the world as a bridge language to communicate with each other. You in fact find this on this very forum - the chances you talk to someone from a different country whose native or common language is not English is quite high. English is not my first language either.
It may be annoying especially if you don't feel a confidence in speaking in English or just don't want to but I understand that it is just this way sometimes. Just my opinion on it however.
Yes, Spanish Speakers is not a race. What you fail to realize is that like 90% of Latinos speak Spanish.
