Make 'awards given' public
It's nice and stuff that you can see on profiles (when enabled) what awards the account has received. Really interesting would be to see a public option what awards every account has given out.

Let it be publicly visible what acoounts spams the clown face awards :) Thats the perfect way to point out the toxic ones and the trolls that poisons the Steam community. And obviously you then can also see the accounts that mostly hand out the 'nice' awards. See it as visible karma.

Yay/nay?

P.S,
Giving this topic a clown face award will only make the suggestion more valid so go ahead.

1. Blocks people

2. Calls them oversensitive

:BlitzLOL:

I block no one with the exception of a handful of people in the giveaway thread and that is merely a utility to make giving things away easier. Your reading comprehension sucks.

That's ironic coming from someone that said "The less I have to interact with the oversensitive and emotional the better".

And what's the difference between blocking someone and asking for them to block you?

Like I said, your reading comprehension sucks. Go back over it a few more times, maybe youll figure it out.

I appreciate your reply, but can you answer the question please?

Hinting at retaliation and naming & shaming isn't as strong of a opening for a suggestion.

Sentiment amongst many users of these Steam forums is more that "awards" need to be done away with, period.
Awards should have be kept simple and reduced to a simple 'gold award' (Reddit Style) with no other reward for the receiver.
It wouldn't be Valve if they didn't gamify everything to hell and back, creating new problems with it.

Don't believe the award-farming aspect would be helped by just one type of award and that's at least what I certainly feel to be the damning aspect of them; every forum filled with e.g. "LGBT" award-farming threads (either way...).

There's enough personal vendettas out there without people being able to see who gives awards or not, this would just fuel them further and likely turn into some name and shame fest.

To my knowledge, blocking on Steam is not symmetric: if you block someone, that someone cannot contact you, but you can still contact them.

I don't know why anyone would ask someone else to block them, though. Makes no sense.

Because the fellow up there announced he is blocking people for the liberal distribution of Jesters, all I did was say add me to the list.

Ask him how it makes sense.

Awards should not give points at all...

Ah, yes, sorry, could have read that better.

Oh, so that's what you meant by x70. That's very generous of you, what's the problem if people know that you are the one donating points to them?

You were asking how one might know what a bad faith argument is? Youre the personification.

Nowhere did I state that I have a problem with that. But here you are...

You didnt, eh? Whats that in bold up there?

"Just asking questions" about something I never said while implying that I would have a problem with that returning.

You are the very personification of the bad faith argument.

Exactly, I was just asking a question. Since you haven't answered it yet, I'll repeat it:

What's the problem if people know that you are the one donating points to them?
